Scripture study of the Book of Daniel and also of the Psalms

Can anyone suggest a scripture study book on the Book of Daniel and also one on the Psalms?

For Psalms, I like “Exposition of the Book of Psalms” by St . Augustine.

My son mentioned the Psalms commentary by Alphonse Liguori. Thoughts?

Both the commentary by St Liguori and St Augustine (as mentioned by @dscath) are oldies but goodies.

The only downside is that most of public domain translations of their works can be a tad old (late 19th century), and so the language can be too floral and whimsical.

The Ignatius Study Bible series is a recommended Catholic resource. It is not yet complete. Here is Daniel (link below), but I think the Psalms volume has yet to see the light of day.

I did email Ignatius Press to find out the update on the Old Testament volume. and was told all the Old Testament Books will first be done separately. Once they are completed they will be placed in an Old Testament volume. It’s a long process. I do have the Genesis and Exodus booklets. Not sure if I’m going to buy the Daniel booklet.
