Scruple/Scrupulus ending

Ok, after a scruple, it is noticed that a person attends lots of confessions, lots of churches, lots of internet gatherings of Catholics, wears a Scapular, and prays 15 rosaries daily. Isn’t that a good thing? I mean, scruples are a nightmare of a problem, this one lasted years, but isn’t there a benefit?
 
I don’t think many people would go to all those lengths because of scruples. It will potentially keep you in the straight and narrow, but God does not want people to live in a constant state of fear and guilt. It’s an illness and all illnesses need to be cured. I had it. It wasn’t fun. Besides I think it can stop you from being close to God if you only see him as a merciless judge and not a loving father.

Definitely well said. So, all of those “positives” are separate from scruples? Maybe the scruples ended earlier and this was the aftermath?
 
Could the author of “Lamentations” have been going through “scruples?” I mean, if not, is that a good example of how a person feels and acts when going through it? Much thanks for replies 🙂

That doesn’t sound like a good thing to me, as it portrays an attitude of not trusting in the Lord for forgiveness. God wants us to trust Him. Scruples are not good, and are an unnecessary burden to a person. I have a granddaughter who has a tendency to them, and I can see how miserable it makes her, although she is getting much better.
 
I was told that going to confession while being in fear of damnation (due to sin) was positive. To me that shows a silver lining.
