Scrupulosity and Mortal Sin

Hello.

I just had a quick question concerning the commuting of a mortal sin and scrupulosity.

You see I brought a DVD of religious nature (“Religious Mysteries”) and before I clicked play on one of the programs I worried that it would be a mortal sin to watch it as It might cause me to have sexual thoughts. I presses play anyway not caring about whether it was a sin.

I admit I do struggle with scrupulosity so I guess that would play a role too.

Did I commit a mortal sin here?

Also when I decided to post here I worried that I would be committing a mortal sin by doing so as I thought I would be disobeying my mother. So by posting with the idea that I might be committing a mortal sin did I commit a mortal sin?

One person’s confusions is not anothers. People have sexual thoughts regarding tables and chairs. I think they call that “Fetishism”. Others like stuffed animals. Plush objects.

I am assuming you are under eighteen. If you are, disobeying your mom at you age may or may not meet the requirements for mortal sin. See your priest. In the meantime, if your mother has told you to stay off this site or the internet all together…

I, too, was going to recommend the same site for “Scrupulosity Anonymous” at mission.liguori.org/newsletters/index.html

and then scroll down and select the document “Ten Commandments for the Scrupulous (2013)”

Sounds like scrupulosity to me.
