Thank you for posting this! My scrupulosity isnt too bad, but I do have some. This does help! 🙂
 
Thank you for posting this. I came back to the Church a few months ago and I didn’t even know what scrupulosity was. I was so excited and happy even after my confessing 20 years of sins…but then I started thinking what if I forgot one…then I would remember something and freak out and go to confession again and again and again. Then it became a daily “thing” with me thinking of sins I forgot to confess because I would fear hell. And something in my head kept saying if you dont confess that you will go to hell. I pray for all those who suffer from this even worse than I. I talked to our priest and he told me after my first confession since I said , “Forgive me for all these and all of my past sins” I’m covered because its impossible to remember everything. So if I think of a mortal sin in the past I forgot to confess he said just confess it next time. He also said scrupulosity is a form of pride. Though I don’t feel pride I feel fear but he would know better than I. So I’m trying to nip this now…so thank you to the OP…it helps a lot!👍
 
I also just posted in Spirituality that I found a text by Fr. William Doyle S.J. called “Scruples and their treatment”, a quite old text but OH SO VERY good!
