Everyone who is reading this, please pray for those people who are overly scrupulous. I see a good amount of it just on this forum, with people struggling with being overly scrupulous and thinking everything they do is a sin. It’s tough to find a balance between being overly lax and overly scrupulous, just as it’s tough to find a balance for a lot of other things. I struggle with it at times myself.

Please pray for me and for everyone who struggles with this.

I pray that you and all other people suffering from scrupulosity would recall that Jesus Himself, though sinless, experienced the temptations and suggestions of Satan (Mark 1:13; Matthew 4:8). This should encourage us, as the grace to conquer such temptations is made available to all by “the Lord thy healer”, the “Counsellor”, “The Prince of Peace” (Exodus 15:26; Isaiah 9:6).

I pray that you would and other sufferers of scrupulosity would recognize that a variety of treatment are available for this condition.

Treatments include

Consultation with priest
Spiritual direction
Reading of Sacred Scripture
Prayer
Consultation with your personal physician

Prayer of St. Dymphna

Lord, our God, you graciously chose St. Dymphna as patroness of those afflicted with mental, emotional, and nervous disorders. She is thus an inspiration and a symbol of charity to the thousands who ask her intercession.

Please grant, Lord, through the prayers of this pure youthful martyr, relief and consolation to all suffering such trials, and especially ae22.

We beg you, Lord, to hear the prayers of St. Dymphna on our behalf. Grant all those for whom we pray patience in their sufferings and resignation to your divine will.

Please fill them with hope, and grant them the relief and cure they so desire.
We ask this through Christ our Lord who suffered agony in the garden. Amen.

Praying for your intentions.
 
O Divine Trinity, I pray that You will help us understand that scruples are Your Blessing, calling us to perfection, as Jesus called us. Give us a better word than scrupulosity to describe the excesses of OCD and similar manic behaviors; lead us to exorcism of Satanic temptation; and help us be thankful for scrupulosity that calls us to follow Your Will. Help us recall that Your Virtue is Temperance–the sin is excessivity. Praise God, and thank You, perhaps this is Your more appropriate word.
 
Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Scrupulosity was a previously unknown word for me but I certainly share your concerns and will pray wholeheartedly for your intentions. God bless you:)
 
Praying for all who suffer from this, on this forum, their loved ones, inculding children. May Jesus help them to understand this tendancy and offer His comfort and peace.

I will pray for you, I to struggle with this and it can get you down at times.
