Are there certain places Where Prayer is not appropriate?

Is Thinking About Something Religious, Or Examining One’s Concience while doing something innapropriate, or being somewhere innapropriate a sin? Is it a mortal sin?

For example

A Bathroom (is it worse if one is being used?)

An area that is unclean?

I can’t think of anymore examples.

No, praying to God is not sinful, at all. Now, if you are committing an act of sin while thanking God for that action, that is wrong, but that’s not actual prayer.

There is no place where you can’t pray. A bathroom is not an inappropriate place, the human body needs to maintain its hygiene and expel wastes. In addition, consider a married woman taking a pregnancy test. She has wanted a baby for so very long. Would it be wrong for her to pray that she is pregnant, just because she’s in the bathroom? Of course not.

We should pray unceasingly! Pray, pray, pray and then pray some more. God loves nothing more than to hear your voice/thoughts in prayer, no matter where you are. Isn’t that wonderful? God is so Good!

Even when someone is preoccupied with other things?

Not trying to be silly but even while changing, or using a restroom?

There Are** NO** bad places or times to think about Religion, or pray?

I think of it this way … I say a prayer when I am sitting in my room at peace, when I am in trouble, when I am caring for a sick patient, when I am in the bathroom brushing my teeth or “using the commode”, when I am driving to work, when I am tired and sleepy, when I am writing you this message … I am constantly thinking of God and His Only Beloved Son, Jesus Christ, and when I am thinking of Our Almighty and Our Savior … I say a prayer.
The only time I can think that would not be an ideal time to pray is when you know you are doing something wrong and you pray to God that you are doing the right thing, when you really and truly know you are in the wrong.
Now, this does not mean you should not pray for forgiveness after you do something that is wrong. I just kind of think it is not appropriate to pray to God that you are doing the right thing when you know full well you are not.
God knows everything that is on your mind and in your heart. You can not fool Him. You can only fool yourself.
Now, maybe I am wrong, but I even pray when I am undressing, changing my clothes.

God doesn’t stop thinking about you and loving you while you use the bathroom - if He did, you’d cease to exist. It’s perfectly fine to think of Him and love Him back.

I have heard mothers of young children claim it is the only place they can get time to focus on prayer. 😃
 
Haha I also suffer from scruples from OCD, and when you here the questions from someone else they sound funny. But no it’s not. You can pray everywhere, even when you are on the can 😛 God Bless!
 
Praying in the bathroom is perfectly fine! It’s quiet and you’re alone … hehe. I’m surprised no one has shared the story (apocryphal, maybe) about St. Teresa in which she was praying while on the toilet (she prayed all the time - why stop?), and the devil started making fun of her. She said, “Shut up, devil. What comes out of my mouth is for God, what comes out the other end is for you.” 😃 Also I have been in the homes and business places of very devout Catholics who have huge pictures of Jesus in the bathroom.

The Bible says “Pray without ceasing,” not “Pray without ceasing except when nature calls.” 😉

Ok, while I agree that there is no bad place to pray, even the bathroom, I have to say that is a bit extreme.
 
Ha, I pray when im in the bathroom and in the car etc… I would like to think God does not discriminate on places of prayer. I look at it like this, should I waste time reading a golf magazine or should I make use of this time I have by myself and offer up some prayers…
