Let me share with you some Bible and please dont take it the wrong way, I just want to show you what I once found… Please read this by yourself, dont believe what I am saying without reading the bible and confirming all these verses.

Eccl 12:7 Dust returns to the earth, and so the spirit to God who gave it.
Job 27:3 & James 2:26 The spirit is that breath of God, without that we are just dead.
Gen 2:7 When God made man He took dust, added Breath of life (spirit) and man became a living soul. The opposite happens to death. The dust and breath are separated and the soul ceases to exist for a time… The soul can die, it is not immortal (Ezek 18:4, Matt 10:28)
Now, Jesus called death a SLEEP (John 11:11-14)
All the dead sleep in the same place (Job 3:11, 13-19)
David also taught the same thing… Death = Sleep. The word cemetery means ‘the sleeping place’ (Ps 13:3) And Where do the dead sleep? Dan 12:2… In the dust of the earth. The dead remain in the grave.
Eccl 9:5-6, Death is an unconscious state, the dead know not anything.
Eccl 9:10, There is no working, nor planning, nor knowledge, nor wisdom in the grave.
Ps146: 3-4, the plans of the dead perish.
So there is no mental or physical activity in death.
The dead are NOT in heaven…
Ps 115:17. The dead praise NOT the Lord.
Ps 6:5. God is not known by the dead.
Acts 2:34. David was not in Heaven 1000 years after his death.

There are lots of evidences in the bible in this regard, but not all is sadness… There is HOPE!

John 11:25, the dead will live again!
Job 14:10-12, the dead rise from the sleep of death “when the Heavens are no more”
Rev 6:14, the Heavens roll away at the second coming of Jesus.
Job 14:13-15, Job would wait patiently in the grave till the coming of Christ. When the Lord called, Job would hear His voice and come out!
John 5:28,29, at the Second Coming of Jesus the dead are raised from the grave!
1 Cor 15:51-54, the righteous dead become immortal and incorruptible at the Second Advent of their Lord!

The resurrection is the glorious hope for the dead. If the dead were to ascend to Heaven at death then there would be no need for the Second Coming, the day of judgment, rewards at Christ’s appearing or a resurrection, dont you think so?

1 Cor 15: 16-23, says if there is not resurrection then the dead are perished. But Paul declares the dead shall live again at the Second Coming!
Job 19: 25-27, Job’s hope was in the resurrection in the last day.
1 Thess 4: 16-17 says dead and living righteous BOTH go to heaven together. Amazing verse! and Heb. 11: 39-40 says that ALL God’s people recieve heaven together.
Isa 26: 19 has a wonderful promise from God: Your dead too will live!
2 Cor. 6:2 Remember we cannot find salvation in the grave. God gives us ample opportunities in this life to seek Him. There will be no second chance after death. If we desire to be among the company that will ascend to heaven when Jesus comes we must seek the Lord now.

God help us to be ready! Have a good day

Mary (Mother of Jesus) was a wonderful woman according to the bible, she gave Jesus His first education and she did very good. She fear God and love Him too and thanks God she was great with Jesus… Now Mary is resting, she is not alive and the bible doesnt say anything else about her. But she is resting waiting for her Savior Jesus to come and wake her up. I want to be in that group as well, being able to see Jesus and to live with Him.
It will be interesting to see Jesus recieving Mary, I guess it will be nice!
When one’s spirit is asleep that person is in sin…When one’s spirit is resting it is no longer struggling with the flesh, but it it not sleeping the flesh is sleeping…

Sorry but you have already missed Jesus welcoming His mother home He did that when she was assumed into heaven.

She never went to heaven, she is dead! Who told you such a lie? Wake up people, I just put HEAPS of evidence from the bible that you dont even have to “interpret it” its just a matter of sit down and read the bible. Put your traditions aside and read the bible.

Your so-called “evidence” means nothing. As I have said before, anybody can take anything out of context to try to make it mean what it wants. That is why the Church is the “pillar and bulwark of truth” (I Timothy 3:15). Nowhere in the Scriptures are the Scriptures given that kind of authority. We are also to hold to Tradition, and not set it aside as you so wrongly believe (I Corinthians 11:2). Furthermore, the Scriptures plainly state that not everything was written down (John 21:25), and that the Holy Spirit would come to guide the Church to the Truth (John 16:13). Finally this “soul sleep” you refer to is directly contradicted in the Scriptures. The thief on the cross was promised that he would be in Paradise that very day (Luke 23:43). So enough of your sad attempts at drawing Catholics away from the One True Church.

This is nothing short of a lie. This is NOT what the verses are saying say. They are speaking of the** PHYSICAL**** death of the body.**
The soul can die, it is not immortal (Ezek 18:4, Matt 10:28)
WRONG**. This is NOT what the text says. It says:**
“…only the one who sins shall die.”
This is speaking of eternal death, which is separation from God. They will suffer eternal damnation.
Now, Jesus called death a SLEEP (John 11:11-14)
All the dead sleep in the same place (Job 3:11, 13-19)
You have gone completely off track here. You have to do some pretty complicated scriptural acrobatics to make these verses say what you want them to mean. HERE is what they say:
“Why did I not perish at birth, come forth from the womb and expire”
Verse** 19 is speaking about the wicked:**
“Small and great are there the same, and the servant is free from his master.”
Eccl 9:5-6, Death is an unconscious state, the dead know not anything.
This is talking about the physical death of the body. Verse 6 says: **
“They will never again have part in anything that is done
* under the sun*.**
Acts 2:34. David was not in Heaven 1000 years after his death.
David was in the bosom of Abraham/Sheol/The Netherworld who went to heaven when Jesus opened the doors.
John 11:25, the dead will live again!
This is not what the text says. It says the dead in Christ will never die.
Job 14:10-12, the dead rise from the sleep of death “when the Heavens are no more”
It is extremely evident that these verses are speaking metaphorically about the fate of men without God.

Rev 6:14, the Heavens roll away at the second coming of Jesus.
Job 14:13-15, Job would wait patiently in the grave till the coming of Christ. When the Lord called, Job would hear His voice and come out!
Job is clearly speaking of being in God’s protection after he leaves this world, asking God to hide him in the netherworld (Sheol)**** until his wrath has ceased.**
John 5:28,29, at the Second Coming of Jesus the dead are raised from the grave!
1 Cor 15:51-54, the righteous dead become immortal and incorruptible at the Second Advent of their Lord!
These passages are all saying that we will ALL be reunited with our glorified bodies.
**It ****doesn’t **take a scholar to see this.

1 Cor 15: 16-23, says if there is not resurrection then the dead are perished. But Paul declares the dead shall live again at the Second Coming!
This is a complete distortion of the text.
This is a big WHAT IF Christ had not been raised. THEN there is no resurrection.
This is EXTREMELY weak. You can’t be serious . . .

2 Cor. 6:2 Remember we cannot find salvation in the grave. God gives us ample opportunities in this life to seek Him. There will be no second chance after death. If we desire to be among the company that will ascend to heaven when Jesus comes we must seek the Lord now.
Your faulty interpretations and comments border on lies.
This is NOT what the text is saying in this passage.
HERE is what it says:
“Do you not know that the holy ones will judge the world? If the world is to be judged by you, are you unqualified for the lowest law courts?

Your “interpretations” are bizarre, to say the least.
Peter spoke well of you when he said:
"In them there are some things hard to understand that the ignorant and unstable distort to their own destruction, just as they do the other scriptures."

She never went to heaven, she is dead! Who told you such a lie? Wake up people, I just put HEAPS of evidence from the bible that you dont even have to “interpret it” its just a matter of sit down and read the bible. Put your traditions aside and read the bible.
You are the one telling me a lie…do you not believe the truth…one that believes in Me, even if he shall die shall live, and whoever lives and beleives in Me shall NEVER die.
Me thinks you should try reading the bible instead of bits and pieces of it.

Job is clearly speaking of being in God’s protection after he leaves this world, asking God to hide him in the netherworld (Sheol)**** until his wrath has ceased.**

And I destroyed your "evidence".
With what? With the Bible - not tradition.

You did’t interpret anything - you just drank the SDA Kool-Aid and twisted the scriptures to your own destruction (2 Pet. 3:16).

Rexpi:
  1. God created man to PERPETUALLY worship Him. That is, non-stop. In order for that to be true, we must be with Him in Heaven when we die, not after some dirt nap.
  2. There is NEVER a time when the soul/spirit is not in touch with God, NEVER. Oh, wait I’m wrong, yes there is…IT’S CALLED HELL.
  3. We are not Baptized so that we can only worship God until the death of our physical bodies. Baptism cleanses the SOUL not the physical body. God would not do this just to have it waisted at death.
  4. Nothing DEAD can enter Heaven.
  5. The soul is not eternal? What?! So what you’re saying is that God says things that are untrue?
  6. God does NOT exist within time and space. When we die, we are no longer bound by those constraints. Thing that you perceive as happening in the future have already happened in Heaven. There is no past or future in Heaven. Heaven and God exist in Eternity.
  7. God is probably not sitting in Heaven “waiting” around for us to take our naps so He can have our undying love and worship for Him. We were not made for death, but for everlasting life with Christ.
Rexpi:

You are looking at things from a very earthly, mortal perspective. Heaven and God are not limited by the ‘timeline’ you place upon them.

God Bless you Rexpi.

Dear Seventh Day Adventist,

The Bible says to hold fast to tradition. Jesus didn’t leave us with only the written word to be twisted and distorted and argued. Jesus would never have spread all this confusion among His followers. There are so many Protestant Churches that are sola scriptura and so many different interpretations. Each one thinks that they hold the real truth.

Catholics treat the written word as sacred scripture and our Mass is centered around holy and sacred Gospels. Our Rosary is centered around the Mysteries of the Gospels. We don’t use the Bible as ammunitation but treat it with utmost reverence.

May God bless you. **I’ve seen 3ABN and I know how much SDAs hate the Pope. I know how you refer to the Pope as the antichrist. **

I’m glad that you’re here and if you want to know more about how awesome the Catholic faith is, please stick around.

Why would the Old Testament, before the Coming of Christ, have the same doctrines in every way as the New Testament which is a result of the Coming of Christ ?

Job lived before Christ, Paul lived after - so Paul, not Job, is the one who says:

15 It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. 16The latter do so in love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. 17The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains.c] 18But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice, 19for I know that through your prayers and the help given by the Spirit of Jesus Christ, what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance.d] 20I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. 21For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 22If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! 23I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; 24but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. 25Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, 26so that through my being with you again your joy in Christ Jesus will overflow on account of me.

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Philippians%201&version=NIV

Paul could say what 1.23 says, because he was granted communion with & knowledge of Christ, whereas Job was not.

OT texts about the dead do not mean for Christians what they did for those before Christ; it is impossible that they should, for:

**8 **So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God, 9who has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, 10but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. 11And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher. 12That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2 Timothy+1&version=NIV****

That is a Gospel worth preaching - “Jesus Christ has destroyed death”. How could He not have, if it is true that God Himself entered into death ? It follows, with absolute & inevitable necessity, that, as Peter says in Acts 2:

**22 **"Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. 23This man was handed over to you by God’s set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men,d] put him to death by nailing him to the cross. 24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Acts%202&version=NIV

Death had, in fact, bitten off more than it could chew. And because He has destroyed - vandalised ? - death, it cannot hold those who belong to Him either. 🙂

well the pope is not the antichrist… The Vatican is… When studying all the descriptions in the bible there is just one organization that fit in all those features… Some Catholics say that is Antiochious epiphanes but he just doesn’t fit on all of the characteristics.

I just find difficult to talk about bible with many catholics cause they act arrogant sometimes putting their church and traditions first. I like talking about God you know but not to fight. Please pray for us and I’ll pray for you so everybody can have a close relationship with God and we can be prepared for His second coming!

Sorry if I’ve offended you with my comments in regard the pope but that’s what I believe and I’m not saying that Catholics are bad people, there are lovely people there that truly love God

Dear SDA,
Let me ask you something. Where do you think the New Testament comes from? It comes from Catholics. Jesus would not have died on the cross and left us with only the written word. The Bible was cannonized 300 years after Christ died. The Catholics, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, read the ancient scrolls and carefully decided what to put in. Each Protestant denomination has a slightly different interpretation of the Scriptures. Jesus would not have wanted to spread all this confusion amount His people. He appointed a spiritual leader of His Church, Saint Peter. Our Pope is his direct successor.

The Catholic faith is awesome. We worship God with all of our senses. Our eyes see beautiful colors of the vestments, stained glass windows, great art, etc. - With our fingers, we have the touch of our beads when we meditate on the Gospels, via way of our rosary - With smell, we have wonderful incense and holy oils- With our ears we worship by listening to Alleluias and chanting. Most importantly, Jesus left us His body and blood in the form of bread and wine. Please stick around and learn more about our faith.

I hear all the hatred spewed out of the mouths of the uneducated narrow-minded ministers on 3ABN. The Bible is not supposed to be used as a weapon. It is supposed to be held in reverence as most holy scripture. Most SDAs quote it constantly and use it as a weapon. So, if I sound defensive to an SDA that is why. I know what you really believe.

God bless,
Shannin

By using such disparaging language in reference to our religion, you are seriously in violation of forum rules. Plus the Vatican cannot be the Antichrist it fails to meet the definition: The Vatican does not deny that Jesus is the Son of the Living God. On the contrary, the Vatican depends on this very truth, as the source of authority. ( 1 John 2:18,22, 4:3, 2 John 1:7). These are the only verses that the word “Antichrist” even appears. None of these apply to the Church.
