SDA Statement on RCC

I have read that in the past. But the truth is most of that talk is new, they didnt used to talk like that and many still hate Catholics regardless. Just look into what their prophet Ellen White said, full of anti-C talk.

Here is a thread I made a while back concerning a few passages she wrote.
There is a striking similarity between the Church of Rome and the Jewish Church at the time of Christ’s first advent. While the Jews secretly trampled upon every principle of the law of God, they were outwardly rigorous in the observance of its precepts, loading it down with exactions and traditions that made obedience painful and burdensome. As the Jews professed to revere the law, so do Romanists claim to reverence the cross. They exalt the symbol of Christ’s sufferings, while in their lives they deny him whom it represents.
 
I read the article and I have just one question: how could you listen to a person or organisation, who not only leaves a space between paragraphs, but indents the new paragraph?! And with one space only no less! Especially when they have done it with all but three paragraphs; talk about inconsistent…

One day they’ll make a smiley who has his tongue in his cheek…

SOS, SSDD… And it almost reads like… “I even have some friends who are Catholic…”…if you know what I mean.

It really wasn’t as virulent as I expected…but then again it would be bad advertising for the Adventist Health System…who has absolutely no problem taking Catholic patients money…or insurance. But in all fairness, their hospital in Orlando took very good care of my grandparents.
 
They have great Hospitals, ( if you don’t mind the vegie menu) and lots of great health programs, some great music groups. It’s just the whole theological beliefs that are off the wall.
I never knew how much they relied on E.G. White, until I was already a Catholic. Of course I knew something was not right I just had no motivation to find out everything until I found out my family, who is still SDA, was praying for me that " I would abanon the herasies of the Catholic Church"
There are some radical fringes that are worse than mainstream SDA’s but they are and will always be deeply anti-catholic. Pray for them.

Her claim, of course, is quite true, only its universalism being false: not all Catholics are like this, and not only Catholics are like this. In fact, were we to replace all references to Catholics with references to Christians in general, it would be a fairly accurate comment.
 
the junk mail I got in the mailbox yesterday (the 4th, not the 5th) was for a church that’s SDA. Their “seminar” which it is advertising, will discuss things like “The Rapture” :rolleyes: It declares time is running out for the Earth! :eek:

I am sure they refer to the Catholic Church as the ‘whore of Babylon’, etc. I’m destroying this pamphlet ASAP. I actually found out it was a SDA church by putting the address of the auditorium in google.com search engine.
