I wouldn’t say they are pro abortion by any means. Pro-choice in perhaps limited circumstances because of an understanding of free will might be a way of putting it. Not out of line with many other Christians. Some excerpts:

Abortion is never an action of little moral consequence. Thus prenatal life must not be thoughtlessly destroyed. Abortion should be performed only for the most serious reasons.
Abortion is one of the tragic dilemmas of human fallenness.
The Church should offer gracious support to those who personally face the decision concerning an abortion. Attitudes of condemnation are inappropriate in those who have accepted the gospel. Christians are commissioned to become a loving, caring community of faith that assists those in crisis as alternatives are considered.
The Church also should commit itself to assist in alleviating the unfortunate social, economic, and psychological factors that add to abortion and to care redemptively for those suffering the consequences of individual decisions on this issue.

The Church does not serve as conscience for individuals; however, it should provide moral guidance. Abortions for reasons of birth control, gender selection, or convenience are not condoned by the Church. Women, at times however, may face exceptional circumstances that present serious moral or medical dilemmas, such as significant threats to the pregnant woman’s life, serious jeopardy to her health, severe congenital defects carefully diagnosed in the fetus, and pregnancy resulting from rape or incest. The final decision whether to terminate the pregnancy or not should be made by the pregnant woman after appropriate consultation. She should be aided in her decision by accurate information, biblical principles, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Thanks.

Thanks.

np 🙂 headin offline but to everyone a most blessed Easter! And to our SDA friends, a blessed remainder of your Easter Sabbath! 🙂 God bless all!

That’s ok, Prod, if you do not agree.

But for starters, Eph 2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and breaking down the middle wall of partition, the enmities in his flesh

2Cor 5:11 But all these things one and the same Spirit worketh, dividing to every one according as he will.

12 For as the body is one, and hath many members; and all the members of the body, whereas they are many, yet are one body, so also is Christ.

14For the body also is not one member, but many.

Peace.
No, I do not agree. Those verses are talking about becoming one, or ‘whole’. It does not speak of acceptable differences. Ephesians 2:14 is becomiing one, because there is ONLY one.

You’ve mistyped your reference to 2 Corinthians 5:11 - 12. Here’s what 2 Corinthians 5:11- 12 states:
**2Co 5:11 Knowing therefore the fear of the Lord, we use persuasion to men: but to God we are manifest. And I trust also that in your consciences we are manifest.
2Co 5:12 We commend not ourselves again to you, but give you occasion to glory in our behalf: that you may have somewhat to answer them who glory in face, and not in heart.
**
I believe you meant:
**1Co 12:11 But all these things, one and the same Spirit worketh, dividing to every one according as he will.
1Co 12:12 For as the body is one and hath many members; and all the members of the body, whereas they are many, yet are one body: So also is Christ. **
It is ‘twisting’, to say the least, when one tries to apply this to the different denominations, or different applications through the different denominations. It speaks of the ONE ministry where people have different ‘tasks’. Let’s look at some of the preceding verses to see if we can get the meaning.
**1Co 12:4 Now there are diversities of graces, but the same Spirit.
1Co 12:5 And there are diversities of ministries. but the same Lord.
1Co 12:6 And there are diversities of operations, but the same God, who worketh all in all.
1Co 12:7 And the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man unto profit.
1Co 12:8 To one indeed, by the Spirit, is given the word of wisdom: and to another, the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit:
1Co 12:9 To another, faith in the same spirit: to another, the grace of healing in one Spirit:
1Co 12:10 To another the working of miracles: to another, prophecy: to another, the discerning of spirits: to another, diverse kinds of tongues: to another, interpretation of speeches.
1Co 12:11 But all these things, one and the same Spirit worketh, dividing to every one according as he will.
1Co 12:12 For as the body is one and hath many members; and all the members of the body, whereas they are many, yet are one body: So also is Christ.
1Co 12:13 For in one Spirit were we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, whether bond or free: and in one Spirit we have all been made to drink.
1Co 12:14 For the body also is not one member, but many. **
This in no way endorses division.

The same author of those scriptures wrote:
Rom 16:17 I appeal to you, brethren, to take note of those who create dissensions and difficulties, in opposition to the doctrine which you have been taught; avoid them.
1Co 1:10 I appeal to you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree and that there be no dissensions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.
Php 2:2 complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind
.

Qualify the statement further…according to your own private interpretations. Christ didn’t build a Church on ‘perfect’ men. They were men, just like you and I. If we doubt His Church over the actions of sinful men, it shows doubts in Christ Himself. He chose Judas who betrayed Him, He had many disciples leave Him and walk with Him no more, He chose Peter who denied Him, He chose Thomas who doubted Him, He chose the disciples that ran away from Him when He was arrested. He even chose Paul, after Paul participated in the persecutions and killings of Christians. **God sure is merciful and gracious for chosing sinners. **Does all that default Him as well as the Church He built?

Jesus built His church on A Perfect Man, Himself. He entrusted it to imperpect people and gave them a Helper/Comforter.

It’s your opinion that I doubt Jesus if I doubt some teachings that are not really from the Bible. I disagree with your opinion.

Do you not tire of asking questions you know how I’ll answer? I tire of seeing them.

Scroll past them…😛

That’s alright Prod. You don’t have to agree. But thanks for correcting my 2Cor 5 to 1Cor 12. You are correct in my haste earlier I mistyped the Scripture I meant to. I had to get offline for awhile. And now I have to get up in less than 6 hrs for Mass. So a blessed Easter to you and God bless!

Unfortunately, He doesn’t come and speak with us very often. So we have the Bible in which all that is necessary for salvation is found in.

The Bible tells us that moral behavior is necessary for salvation. Human cloning and test tube babies are immoral acts and are not addressed in the bible. But the Bible teaches us there is a moral authority on earth to teach without error matters of faith and morals. That moral authority can only be the Catholic Church, the pillar and ground of truth. This fact cannot be countered by sinners and dissenters within the Church who have strayed from the truth, because bad behavior and teaching authority are opposed to one another, they are not one and the same and it is not an excuse to rebel.

This is not to say that all communities with incomplete union with the Catholic Church are immoral. But we have a guarantee through the negative charism from God that divinely protects the Church from teaching error. The evidence is there for anyone who wants to see it.

No, you don’t.

There’s such a fear of error. Sure we are to avoid it, but we are humans. I think it’s true that to err in human, to forgive is up to God. I’d rather be ever mindful of God’s loving forgiveness that to think I’m correct.

Remember the rich young ruler who came to Jesus wanting to know how to get eternal life. Jesus mentioned the Commandments. The young man said he’d kept them since a child. Jesus didn’t argue the point but said he still lacked. No matter what we can do or believe we still lack. We need the Lord and Him only.

Thank God for mercy and grace. Thank You, Lord, that You becon us to your Throne of Grace as we so often need mercy and grace!

The definition of Christ, the Word Made Flesh, was completed at the Council of Nicea, defining He was both True Man and True God. Heresies about Christ began with the Gnostics…

that are coming back now on these certain tv stations as being politically hidden to give the Catholic Church power, or that we are really operating on pagan principles, holidays, customs, etc., when in fact Jesus started doing all of that when He died on a pagan cross.
