I was wondering if you could help me out. I am looking for the passage that has this message. “What good is a man if he forfeits his soul.” It goes something like that. I want to know exactly where to find it in the Bible.

I’m thinking Hebrews or Galatians but can’t seem to figure out where it is located.

Thanks for any hep you can give me.

Mark 8:36: “For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his soul?”

Thank you very much! Did you use a search engine to find it or just know where it was located?

I’ve had a tough time finding a good Catholic bible search online…any suggestions from anyone? It seems so many of the bible searches all want to use the King James bible or editions I’ve not heard of before.

I use the RSV. It’s not the Catholic Edition, but it’s pretty good and it includes “Apocrypha” (aka, the Deuterocanonical books).

It has a very good search engine except it breaks up names, e.g., Eli’sha, Methu’selah. Drives me NUTS.

e-Sword has a number of translations available, including the Douay-Rheims.

If I want a bible verse and am not sure where to find it I google a phrase from the verse and what comes up will be the correct words and where in the bible you can find the quote.
