Searching for a Papal quote

[Lazerlike42]

I am searching for a papal quote which I have been unable to find. Unfortunately, I don’t recall the precise statement. It was something along the lines of a condemnation of the idea that modern man faces any new temptations or different temptations than what man has always faced. If I recall, it was from a pope in the time of Pius IX, Leo XIII, or thereabouts.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe do a keyword search at papalencyclicals.net and search for “modern temptation” or other keywords you recall.

Does it have something to do with Pope St. Pius X’s condemnation of the heresy of Modernism?
