I am not quite sure where to post this so I hope its ok…

Several yeas ago I left the prodestant church and to my great surpise I had a sister (Nun ?)knock at my door. We spoke several times and while I still had/have questions I can say that when she showed me the church I felt God there. I do not understand why the answers I am reading concerning Mary are different than what she said. She claimed that Mary DID have other children and they too were from immaculant conception. I dont feel that could possibly be right and would make them equal to Jesus and NO ONE is.
Was she wrong and how could a sister not know?

Yeah she was wrong.

Sure she was a Catholic Nun?

We don’t do a lot of door to door evangelization.

Yes I am sure she was a Nun. She even took me to veiw the church.

I know you dont usualy knock on doors hence my surprise and thoughts that she was led to me by God.

Well, there are Catholics who do door to door evangelization, but generally not nuns or sisters. Sisters that do evangelical work generally go in pairs or groups, both because of the evangelical counsels and to avoid scandal or danger to a sister out on her own.

But let’s say this lady was a legit Catholic sister.

The sad truth is that, at least for the last forty years, the religious education of Catholics has been spotty, and the institutions that used to watch for craziness from supposed Catholic teachers have not been real active. So you can hear some crazy, mixed up information.

OTOH, it’s possible that you misunderstood what she said. If she liked to talk about all Christians being Mary’s adopted children, and if she liked to call Mary “the Immaculate Conception” (which is about her, not Jesus), you may have misheard her when she said that Mary, who is the Immaculate Conception, has many children.

Info: She had her son Jesus by virgin birth, conceived by the Holy Spirit. Mary’s mom and dad had Mary by immaculate (sinless, not virgin) conception. This is why Mary is called the Immaculate Conception, not Jesus. (Although of course Jesus was also without sin from the moment of His conception as a human baby, because as true God and true Man he couldn’t possibly sin.)

Thank you,
I dont thinkI misunderstood but accept it is possible.

Concerning other things about Mary:
I am reading the forums and have found and read some supporting scripture for Mary in
Luke ie 1:28 1:42 and 1:48

I believe you would consider me “Bible Only” but I am just starting and that is where I am right now.

I really wish I could share my whole story but have no idea where I would post it or if I should.
Perhaps it is something that should only be shared in person with a pastor.

So, that said I will ask: what do you think of being spirit led and feeling the spirit when I toured the church?

You are certainly not the first person to experience God’s presence in a Catholic Church. It is due to the Eucharistic presence of Jesus in the tabernacle.

Take this love, therefore, as the end that is set before you, to which you are to refer all that you say, and, whatever you narrate, narrate it in such a manner that he to whom you are discoursing on hearing may believe, on believing may hope, on hoping may love. - St. Augustine http://www.dubaa.info/dell.gif
