I am trying to create a breviary software with prayers in my mother tongue. Even though there are free resources available online, none of them are open source. I am trying to find an open source software where I can just change the prayers from source language (preferable English) to my mother tongue to create a breviary in my mother tongue.

I am looking for currently used breviary. Not the old traditional one. I am searching for a software in MySQL with PHP. But any programming language will be good.

Thanks for your help.

Currently-used breviaries (Liturgy of the Hours) are under copyright.

There is an app with an old breviary with English, Latin, and Hungarian. Maybe you are Hungarian 🙂 It is called BrevMeum or Brevariam Meum. Mine is for the iPod; don’t know if they have other versions.

Here is their site.

Thanks for the link. I am not worried about the content. Even if it is in Latin, I can guess the text and replace it. I am searching for a software which is open source. (Prayers may not be, but the code logic is what I am searching for)

Oh, I can’t help you with software! A lot of what is in breviaries is directly from Sacred Scripture, so you wouldn’t even have to guess, just cut and paste from an online Bible in your language… if they have one.
