Hopefully someone here knows this. I remember hearing a quote about not presuming guilt in others; I think it was St. Augustine or St. Thomas Aquinas. It went something like this: If you think another person has sinned, assume that you’re mistaken. If you can’t do that, assume that they did not intend to do wrong. If you can’t do that, assume that they did it out of ignorance.
