Seasonal decorating of a home shrine

A while back I was on another site and someone mentioned how his Catholic grandparents who lived in Germany (Bavaria) decorated their home shrine according to season; spring flowers, autumn leaves etc

Has anyone else heard of this tradition/custom?
 
I’ve been wanting to be more intentional with my hoem shrine. Currently, it changes for Advent (wreath, candles, family Christmas cards) and then I add my palms from Palm Sunday. I’ve been wanting to do more to follow the liturgical calendar but it’s on the back burner for awhile. Maybe this thread will provide some inspo.
