Hey, I live in Seattle, and besides the Josephinium which is hard to get to and ALWAYS crowded(alas, His Excellency Archbishop Brunett is not a TLM fan), the only traditional and orthodox parish I’ve been to is the one I attend- St Mark. It’s north of downtown, in shoreline, just off of I-5. If you know where the shoreline library is, or Ronald Bog, it is just near there.
Other alternatives that I have heard good things about but never actually attended(so I don’t know for sure) are St Alphonsus in Ballard, Holy Family in White Center, and the later Masses at Blessed Sacrament(this one is iffy though, sometimes they have folky stuff). Blessed Sacrament is just off the freeway before you cross the bridge over to downtown Seattle, near the U district.
Parishes to avoid at all costs- St Therese, which is essentially a praise and worship dance party, the Cathedral, St Pius X(weird that his name is used on one of the most untraditional parishes around…?), and St Benedict’s in Wallingford.
St Mark is excellent, you can go to the 7:30 AM Mass on sundays which has the Canon in latin(the gloria, sanctus, angus dei, and so on), the 9:00 which has a mixed choir(male, female, usually polyphony, sometimes traditional english hymns, sometimes chants, a mix of all three,e tc), and then the 11:00 which is a womens schola. The Saturday vigil is…different. Folky, girl servers, and so on. [edited]
Don’t be turned off because the actual building at St Mark is very modern(its shaped like a hexagon). The interior has been slowly altered by the last few priests, adding traditional statues, a nice crucifix, tabernacle, etc, and some nice stone inlays and such, like the one that reads ‘Introibo ad altare Dei’ near the door.
Confessions are at 3:30-4:30 on saturday.
Take the ferry and go to Our Lady Star of the Sea, across from Seattle in Bremerton (a short walk from the ferry terminal). Mass is at 5:15 on Saturday, 8:15, 11:00, and 5:00 on Sunday.
