I have been thinking about this…if you knew that Jesus was coming for the judgement in one year, what would you do to prepare? What specific things would you incorporate into your life?

What difference would it make?

You could die at any moment, so shouldn’t you live as if you might be called before God today?

Pretty much what I am trying to do now, with the help of AA. To be of Love and Service, One Day at a Time.

And rejoice at all souls who will soon be released from Purgatory:thumbsup:

I would definatley reach out to non-believers/followers much more than I do now. I usually find myself wanting to talk to others but I don’t have the sense of urgency that I should.

Here’s a good story I read once, I’m not saying it’s true but it has a good message:
A believer and non-believer were best friends. One day on the way to work the non-believer was killed in a car accident. This is on a typical day with no warning! That night the believer had a terrible nightmare. In it, the non-believing friend says to him “I am in hell! Why did you not tell me about Jesus? About his incredible love and mercy? Why didn’t you ever invite me to church or give me a Bible? You knew the truth! Why didn’t you share it???”

Personally the story inspires me to talk to others. I want to thank you for asking this question because although we should be living as if Jesus will come in the hour, we often don’t.

Jesus already told us to always be prepared so you should live your live as if judgement was coming in a few seconds. You shouldn’t need a letter saying I’m coming in one year so prepare for that. You should always be prepared.

John’s Revelation 22:11-12 summarizes it quite nicely…

[11 ] "He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
** [12 ]** *And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be." *

Maybe I didn’t word it correctly–I know that we should all live our lives as if Jesus were coming in the next moment. My question is, what are the actions that Jesus wants us to do, specifically?

What I’m asking is, what specifically should all Catholics be doing on an ongoing, daily basis?

Is it living the 10 commandments and beatitudes, loving God and neighbor? Or is it even more?

I want specific examples of what you think is essential.

thanks!

Very simple. Be a saint. Live in holiness every moment. Keep you soul clean. Use the Sacraments.

Remember that you could die at any time and should be ready.

We should be preparing for His coming every day. After all, we say we love Him, so we need to be making time for prayer, and the best use of the Sacraments.
