Second coming of Jesus Christ

Are we allowed to want the second coming to happen after we die or should we want it to happen sooner rather than later, I sometimes feel like I want to live my life fully on earth and experience heaven (which hopefully I go to and hopefully everyone reading does) before the second coming. Is this allowed?
 
Whether it’s allowed or not I don’t know, but it does seem like an odd thing for a Christian to want. We should want what God wants, and for most of us it can be hard to discern what exactly He wants. We do know that God wants us to go to Heaven, because that has been revealed, and since we can be more sure of this revealed fact than anything else, we should also want this above anything else.

Unless you’ve had a divine revelation you can’t know how your life is going to turn out, or what God plans for you. You can get a sense of this through discernment and prayer, but you can never know. He might want you to live a long, fulfilling life like you hope, or he might call on you soon. Either way you should trust that God knows best and eagerly await to see his plans unfold.
 
I don’t think either approach is wrong.

Personally, I’d like to see an end to the evil in the world, so I’d like it to just happen.

On the other hand, I know people in my life who haven’t been living a Godly life, so I don’t want the second coming to happen so they have a chance to convert.

In the end, just live your life like the end can come at any minute. That’s the important thing.

no one controls or sets rules on having opinion, which is what you have. I could care less if the second coming happened now or tomorrow. But history has shown to not hold ones breath on it. Sure Jesus said only the Father knows. But ya have to look at how long ago Jesus said that and then wonder.

there really is no point in wishing and hoping for a second coming any time soon. it just isnt going to happen, people in suffering would just be too lucky to have it all come to an end any time soon.
 
Personally I don’t want to be around for the second coming, hopefully I’ll be dead before then, because the description of the world in those times sounds awful! 🙂
 
He’ll be back again someday, just you wait & see.

The Bible tells us to be watching, prepared, and ready - that He will return like a thief in the night. Many will be watching and ready, many will not. I don’t agree with your statement below:

Christ could return in two minutes - we just don’t know. I’m not going to bank on the not in my lifetime theory because it could happen. We’re supposed to be waiting like the bride waiting for the bridegroom. Are you serious when you say people in suffering would be too lucky to have it all come to an end any time soon?

Among John’s last words in Revelation are, “Come Lord Jesus.” That is how I end my evening prayers.
 
There is a hint in Rev 6 :10-11 as to when the end times will come.It will happen when the number of people who are to be slained for the word of God and for the testimony which they held ,is filled up.This could mean end times will come only after the last martyr who stands in the name of Jesus is killed,or in other words when no longer anybody will be killed for being a Christian or for preaching bible .That is ,when the work of spreading the good news of the Gospel is completed and when the world is in a more or less peaceful condition.Obviously,it will take time…(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)
 
The one who gives this testimony says, “Yes, I am coming soon” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! The grace of the Lord Jesus be with us all.

Dont want for it, but emrace the advent message of “Be prepared”!
 
Whatever God does is fine with me. We can avail ourselves of His grace in many ways.

I will focus first on my individual death rather than His second coming.

If either one comes first, that is fine.

May His Holy Will be done!
