Hi everyone,

I am currently in my 3rd week of Physical Therapy (PT) grad school, and honestly I like all the practical application classes. On the other hand, my anatomy class is frankly my most disliked class. I do not necessarily dislike the subject material itself, but the professor who teaches the course (who is NOT a PT) expects so much detail from us to the point where it discourages me from pursuing PT at all.

I have talked to some PTs in the field, and some other older student PTs in other programs, and they’re opinion of her is that she is going too overboard in knowing all the details. While details are important for someone who wants to become a surgeon/MD, there are some details that should not be emphasized since general/non-specialized PTs do not need to necessarily know it.

After 3 long years of waiting to get into Physical Therapy school, I am honestly discouraged of pursuing PT because of this one class, and there is also a possibility I might fail out of this class too since I hear she fails 3-6 people each cohort. Other careers I am considering are high school teacher or high school/college counselor.

I would like to ask for prayers that God Blesses me with the wisdom, strength, and guidance, as well as the support and encouragement from family and friends with whatever decisions or obstacles that may come my way. I would also like to ask for prayers for anyone in similar situations, I thank you all, I pray for all of you each day, God Bless!

Once the course is done, you don’t have to take her again, do you?

Praying you don’t let one person derail your goals…

Praying to the Holy Spirit to give you guidance, direction, strength, fortitude & wisdom in your discernment.

Anatomy is like that most places. It tends to be a washout course. If you want PT, study, study in groups, check out Khan academy on the topic, use whatever online helps you can and PASS the blankety-blank course. Then wash the dust off your feet and move on full speed ahead!

    1. Don’t lose this long-held dream over one course.
Pull out all the stops and get past it!

This is well said. Anatomy was the washout course in my days of “nursing school” (BSN program at the U of Iowa) We were taught the same material the med students were taught albeit we were in separate classes. The curve saved the day. He couldn’t give as many D’s and Fs as test scores would dictate due to University grading policies. Thus we all got upped a grade at the end of the semester.

He actually said, he hated teaching nursing students and refused to “dumb down” anatomy for anyone. Given those comments and grading process and a HUGE number of negative reviews of his teaching style he was removed from teaching anatomy to nursing students. Final justice, LOL 🙂

Your experience with anatomy classes is not unique; hang in there with it.

I am so glad we all hung in there together and studied in groups as noted and memorized what we had to to get through it.

Don’t give up on your dream because of this class. You can get through it.

Mary.

**College Student’s Prayer
Before an Important Decision **

Lord, Almighty God, source of light, truth, and
eternal goodness, transform this present moment
into an hour of vision and inspiration. Help me
to find wisdom; shed light on my thoughts. May
my aspirations come true through righteous and
good deeds. Give me the strength to concentrate,
to think objectively, and to see clearly. Shed your
light on me so that I may see which decision
to make. Help me, O my Eternal God, to avoid
vanity and pride, and thus be able to make worthy
decisions as a true child of yours.

Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

Prayer to St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta

St. Teresa of Calcutta, you allowed the thirsting love of Jesus on the Cross to become a living flame within you, and so became the light of His love to all. Obtain from the Heart of Jesus direction for Pray3X. Teach me to allow Jesus to penetrate and possess my whole being so completely that my life, too, may radiate His light and love to others.
Amen.

Thank you all for your continued prayers. I am currently struggling right now, however reading your posts gives me some hope and optimism.

I thank you all, I pray for all of you each day, God Bless! And please continue praying for me, there are some days where I feel like regretting choosing physical therapy as a career and contemplate if choosing a different career path would’ve been easier.

Pleas pray keep me in your prayers as well as all those in similar situations, Thank you all God Bless!

I also just realized that if I were either fail or withdraw from physical therapy, all my tuition money ($15,000) for the semester will be taken and be all for nothing.

Several students in years past have failed this professor’s class, and even if they were to pass this professor’s class this semester, this professor will also be teaching next semester as well. As a result, if students were to pass the first semester, and fail the second semester ($30,000) will have gone to waste.

I am at a crossroads in my life right now where I don’t know what to do. If I should continue pursuing physical therapy as a career, or find an alternative career such as highschool teacher or counselor. Please continue to pray for me as I am at the point where I am about to have a nervous breakdown. Thank You all, God Bless

Hi everyone,

My midterm exams are coming up. I would like to ask for prayers, that my classmates and I are Blessed with the wisdom and strength to retain all the knowledge needed to do well on the exams.

I would also like to ask for prayers for the professors, teachers, teaching assistants, and graders, that they are lenient and kind when creating, evaluating, and grading the exams.

I thank you all, I pray for all of you each day, God Bless!
