The Apostolic Exhortation is to have the same name as the preparatory document for the Synod: ‘New Paths for the Church and for an Integral Ecology.’

and Rorate Caeli has the letter here:

So Synods presided over by the Bishop of Rome are now denounced as “fake synods”. Interesting.

So this letter was sent to all bishops, or just those in the Amazon region? Why would a bishop somewhere else need to have a press conference prepared?

the Pope’s decisions based on the fake-Synod (whose members were handpicked by him to give him the results that he wanted) will apply to the whole world. Including, most likely, the raison-d’être of the fake-Synod, the priestly ordination of married men.”
Completely false.

Fact: the members of the Synod were not “handpicked” by Pope Francis. They were, for the most part, the bishops of the region plus 13 heads of the Roman Curia, 15 members elected by the Union of Superiors General, and other assorted extras.

I’d also say that a letter sent to about 2885 bishops (and shared with those directly involved in the Diocesan preparation for publication of the Exhortation) is hardly what I’d call “secret”! There is of course a difference between “confidential” and “secret” but then I suppose Rorate Coeli wouldn’t want to let the facts (or obedience for that matter) get in the way of a good story!

The Holy Father has also explicitly stated that he does not support optional celibacy for all (diocesan) priests.

secret? No!

confidential? Yes!

“Vatican - Bishops, Get Ready: The Amazon Fake-Synod Bomb is Coming Up! (Confidential Letter)”

The headline is false
Why denigrate the Holy See by reiterating sensationalist news stories that are, with terms like
“The Amazon Fake-Synod Bomb is Coming Up”

The news article in your second link is saying is an Apostolic Exhortation is being drafted and prepared.
I have pasted it below
Like they say , Nothing to see here , just press drumming up click bait

Vatican City, 13 January 2020

Your Eminence, Your Grace, Your Excellency:

The Holy Father is preparing a new Apostolic Exhortation to present the New Paths for the Church and for an Integral Ecology as developed with the guidance of the Holy Spirit during the Synod on the Amazon in October last year.

The draft is currently being reviewed and corrected and then needs to be translated. Pope Francis hopes to promulgate it by the end of this month or in early February.

The Exhortation is keenly awaited and will attract great interest and many different responses. Accordingly, as was previously done with Laudato si’ (2015), Amoris Laetitia (2016), Gaudete et Exsultate (2018) and Christus Vivit (2019), the Holy Father would like the local Ordinaries to receive the text directly, before it is published and before the world press starts to comment on it, and join him in presenting the Exhortation and making it accessible to the faithful, to fellow believers and all people of good will, and to the media, the academic world, and others in positions of authority and influence
With the hope of preparing well, some suggestions are being offered in this first letter. The purpose is not to generate publicity or attract attention. Rather, it is quietly to support you the Ordinary, in communion with Pope Francis, as you prepare to receive the Exhortation and pass it on to the People of God in your jurisdiction. Accordingly, with greatest freedom, please make use of the suggestions insofar as they seem helpful.
A useful way of preparing would be read some of the relevant earlier documents referenced below. In another 10 days or so, you will receive a second letter with further suggestions.

When the day of promulgation draws near, you will receive the Exhortation by email under embargo. On the day itself, there will be a celebratory and communications event in the same Synod Hall where the deliberations took place in October.

continuing

You may also want to begin planning a press briefing or a press conference or other event as soon as convenient after the publication of the Exhortation. For example, you may find it opportune to have the Exhortation presented by yourself along with an indigenous spokesperson if relevant in your area, an experienced pastoral leader (ordained or religious, layman or laywoman), an expert on climate or ecology, and a youth involved in peer ministry.

Please keep this letter confidential and share it only with those directly involved in the Diocesan preparation for publication of the Exhortation, not with others or with the media. Please do respect these guidelines. At the same time, please be forgiving if you receive more than one copy of this letter - it seems better to risk duplication rather than fail to reach some dioceses because of poor internet connectivity.

With the sincere hope that this letter has been helpful, let us join in sincere prayer to Our Father of all mercies to bless Pope Francis and all the Bishops in promulgating the Exhortation, and to dispose the People of God in the Amazon and throughout the world to receive it with faith and hope, intelligently and effectively.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Cardinal Cláudio Hummes, OFM
General Rapporteur of the Synod

President of the Pan Amazonic Church Network (REPAM)

“ The whole “confidential” letter was leaked to LifeSiteNews
Well… that makes it not too much of a ‘secret letter’, doesn’t it? 🤔
So Synods presided over by the Bishop of Rome are now denounced as “fake synods”. Interesting.
In the slang of the 21st century, “fake” is a synonym for “things I disagree with”.
Please keep this letter confidential and share it only with those directly involved in the Diocesan preparation for publication of the Exhortation, not with others or with the media. Please do respect these guidelines.
Well… so much for that request! 😦

My thoughts exactly. I am sure the Vatican knew that this would be leaked within days if not hours of its hitting the distribution list, and selected the content accordingly.

I actually wouldn’t put it past them to label things “Confidential” with the anticipation that they would leak all the faster…

What a nothing burger. We already knew an exhortation was coming and that it would be based on the final document…

Telling bishops across the whole world to prepare press conferences seems like it might be more than a nothing burger.

I question the morality of re-printing a letter that the Holy See EXPLICITLY asked me kept confidential.
I think it is mitigated by the fact that the request was not made of Rotate Caeli but of the bishops.

One of the bishops was either disobedient or more likely just negligent in allowing it to leak.

What, I wonder, is an “integral ecology”?
It’s a scientific term.

The bond between humans and the natural world means that we live in an “integral ecology,” and as such, an integrated approach to environmental and social justice is required.

The need for an integral ecology approach can be seen, for example, in the coupling of economic activities and wealth inequalities with environmental pollution and climate change. Climate pollutants come primarily from the wealthy 1 billion, but the worst consequences of associated climate change will be experienced by the bottom 3 billion, who had little to do with this pollution.

Completely false.
Quite likely, but bear in mind those words that you quoted from my post (which post is since deleted) are not mine. They are in the Rorate Caeli item, but the way you’ve referenced my post, the words appear to be mine. There is likely a need to in fact delete the OP (and hence the thread) since that is the source of those words.

I had thought that some people might not realise you were quoting the OP article. I should have warned you to italicize that grab!

Each time I see a new thread that includes some conspiracy-level post from the usual suspects in “news” sources, I can’t help but think that once again, those who salivate at the very thought of another juicy tidbit to bring down Pope Francis are playing right into Satan’s hands. The Lord of Lies wants division, confusion, doubt, anger…and that’s exactly what happens when people go to these sites, post about them on social media, which spread these half-truths and cause division, doubt, confusion, and anger. The Church is being destroyed from within, but not just by those you might think it is. It’s being chipped away at, bit by bit, piece by piece, by those who unknowingly think they are doing good by passing along this kind of garbage before it even gets fact-checked. As St Philip Neri once counseled using feathers blowing in all four directions of the wind as an example, once these words are out there, it’s impossible to take them back.
Agree. Luckily I was nearly done raising my children when the anti Pope Francis and anti Magisterium bashing began. I was able to defend our faith to them against secular evils. Today it seems that our conversations on faith are almost solely warning them about the enemies within who want to destroy their faith in that great gift of Jesus… the One, Holy, catholic Church guarded by the Holy Spirit.
