I just know that the next time someone gives you grief about the issue of relics of saints, it’d be interesting to hear their opinion about our celebrity-besotted culture’s obsession with film and pop stars, and stories like this one:

The reverence afforded such an item is still analogous to the reverence Catholics and Orthodox afford to items associated with the saints. The desire to own such an item certainly is analogous. I’m certain the person who bought it feels somewhow closer to Lennon, in an emotional sense at least.
I am a Beatles fan too, but $48,000 for a book with a lock of John’s hair in it!?
