Anyone know a good - and basic - resource that explains the Seder Meal? I’m also looking for something that will show it’s connection to our Liturgy today, and goes into some detail on the concept of covenant.

I’d like to talk about this some during our parish study when we talk about the Passover later this month. Most people in the study do not know much about our Catholic faith, which is why I need something that is beginner/intermediate level. 🙂

There’s a wonderful film (available on DVD at christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product?item_no=897111&event=CFN#curr , about 30 minutes in length) entitled “The Passover,” narrated by Zola Levitt. In the film the viewer is invited into the home of a Jewish family as they prepare for, celebrate, and explain their traditional Jewish seder meal.

You don’t find out until the very end of the film that Zola Levitt is actually a Christian (a convert from Judaism, I think), and he explains how everything in the seder meal was fulfilled in Christ. I don’t think he is Catholic, so you’ll have to make that extra connection to our Mass, but the film is really wonderful.

I have seen the film successfully used in an RCIA class, and last year I used it with my 6th grade CCD students when we were studying the Passover. So I don’t think you have to worry about it being too difficult to understand.

Above is the link I use for my passover seder each year. It gives you everything you need to have the most beautiful Messianic Passover. The prayer (haggadah) does a wonderful job of tying Passover to Christ,
I hope you find as many blessings from this I I have over the past few years.
