Hello I am bothering with sedevacantism and it really makes me feel irrational and anxious, far from God and truth. I should have been doing better things right now than spending a whole day thinking about it and accomplishing almost very little.

God bless you all.

Are you thinking about adopting sedevacantism? Or are you distressed after reading about it?

Sedevacantism is not an acceptable position.

If your faith is shaken by sedevacantism then please stop reading about it.

Agree with catholic03. Don’t read things that shake your faith. There are some things I have to avoid for that reason.

I can’t adopt it because it is irrational, but I get distressed after reading too much. It often starts with small thoughts when I have too much free time. I thought that I have already dealt with it, but I am not a professional apologist. I am just starting to studying my faith after a few years of apostasy and sympathising with protestantism. In time of doubt and disbelief I should be more careful not to get it wrong again and again.

God bless.

Recurrent or intrusive thoughts are an issue you might speak about with doctor and priest.

This is very much unhelpful to the OP and his issue, and it is against forum policy at best. At worst you are leading people astray.

Flagged.

If by “the modernist view,” you mean the one that says we have a validly elected Pope, then yes.

“Seek your own truth” is some awfully modernist sounding talk. There is one truth, and one Church, and the truth is that the see isn’t vacant, that God hasn’t deserted his Church.

It’s so interesting to me that some people are so traditional that they disrespect the clergy. Please check your tone, sir.

I was just thinking what a relativistic statement it was, as well.

You should read the TOS before engaging on online forums. It might be to late though.

Why must you people flag and silence any views other than your own? Why are you so afraid of someone searching for the truth?

But do you see just in one thread there has been discord because of this schismatic view? We are meant to be one body

It’s not schismatic- Do your own research. So many on here flag anything that doesn’t agree with their views. What are they so afraid of? I went to Catholic schools before VaticanII.

Why must you people flag and silence any views other than your own?
Here’s two:

Do not incite animosity towards anyone, especially the clergy.

Non-Catholics are welcome to participate but must be respectful of the faith of the Catholics participating on the board. Catholics must be respectful of the legitimate religious preferences and practices of their fellow Catholics.

Not my rules, but if you use the forum you must play by them.

So is your aim to get people to believe that Pope Francis is not the Pope? Because if it is, you are trying to divide the church whether you believe yourself to be right or not.

Telling someone to study the issue is animosity? Obviously this is a Novus Ordo forum that can’t tolerate anything but blind obedience to their views.

I’m trying to get people to study for themselves, not listen to a bunch of keyboard warriors. Obviously the OP is feeling anxiety regarding this issue, and everyone is saying to stay ignorant.

Whining? All I said was to do your own research. Problem with that?

You forgot the rest- Do you agree with Francis that Catholics and Muslims pray to the same God?
