Seeing Spirits?

Hello everyone…

A little background about me! I have been a Catholic my whole life. I used to be really involved in my old parish and now I go to church weekly with my dh and children. (Would like to be more active but that’s a long story.)

I have had a spirit in my home. I knew they were here because there was a cold smoke/fog in my hallway and as soon as I felt it, it was gone. I have smelled sweet smells before in my home without a reason. I did have my priest here and blessed my home and did a cleanse asking spirits to leave.

The other night returning home from being at my mothers house I looked on the side of the road (where a utility station was and surrounded by a fence) I saw a man standing there. I saw him as clear as can be. I blinked and he was gone. There is no way someone could run that fast out of this fenced area.

Then last night we were at a restaurant and my son was acting up. I took him out and was sitting on a bench, at the corner of my eye next to me this cloud like (white) rounded shape with like a tail (sorry I wish I could explain more clearly) floated by. I thought maybe it was a shadow but when people walked by I took notice and it wasn’t a shadow.

I am not sure what to think about these 2 occurrences. Other than what happened in my home I never experienced this. I am not sure if I should talk to my priest about these sightings?!?!?!? I don’t want him to think I am crazy or something.

I don’t know what to think about this? What are you opinions? (Please be kind.) I did speak to my mom about it and she doesn’t know what to say.

Can we “see” things from another dimension? I think it is possible, but I never have. I have had lifelong so-called “psychic” stuff: telepathy (amazing actually) and I know the Church at Large frowns upon this but I happen to believe that it is “something” we all have and most of us “learn” to ignore or block because it is “forbidden” or considered somehow “sinful”.

Having said that, I urge you to go to your primary care physician and report your experiences. There are legitimate brain disorders that can create visual and auditory “hallucinations” that appear real. Once this has been ruled out, I then suggest you go to the Diocese and ask for referral to a specialist (a priest who is trained) in “other worldly” or “supernatural” experiences. Meanwhile, turn to the Blessed Mother. Say the rosary every single day. Express to God the Father your confusion and fear and ask Mammon Marie to turn to her Son for intercession. No prayer from a heart that loves God goes unanswered, little sister.

I believe you! I personally have never experienced anything like you,but when I was 13 years old I did see a picture which made me believe life after death. In nutshell, my next neighbor’s mom took a picture of my friend in front of a pomegranate tree and his grandfather was standing directly behind him in the picture No lies! Mind you, his grandfather had died six months earlier! It was so freaky! You could see him and he had his arm around my friend’s right shoulder! Very freaky!

Go seek your local parish priest again.

BTW: Try setting up cameras or take pictures…if possible.

It is not a surprise to know that spirits do exist and can sometimes be seen. I think many people never see them; one reason is that they may notice a “fog” or whatever, but they just ignore it. They chalk it up to some reason or other, like when it’s cold out and there’s steam coming out of a vent, or maybe you’re cooking and steam comes up from the stove. So I think we get so used to these things, we don’t look for anything paranormal.

We watched a Dracula movie one day and a picture fell off the wall all by itself. I chalked it up to traffic rumbling by. My daughter thought it was a ghost. Once my husband and I were discussing which program to watch on TV. It was around Christmas, and there were two programs. I wanted to see one, he wanted to see the other. The channel changed by itself to the channel HE wanted to see!!!

So, to protect ourselves we would rather think it’s just an ordinary happening. My sister had a ghost in her house many years ago. It was that of a young man who wore overalls. She guessed he may have been a farmer because her house was brand new and built on what had been farm land. She moved from there later on.

Such things are real. I have spoken to witnesses, including a few family members. Don’t worry about what your priest might think, talk to him. See what he has to say. Since such things happen to some and not to others, of course people don’t know what to think. Actual hallucinations are quite rare, but, talk to your priest.

I have seen things that could be dismissed as hallucinations, but since they have also been accompanied by physical events witnessed by two or more people, I am going to go ahead and say you aren’t necessarily crazy! Proper discernment is required here, as in all cases where you are dealing with spirituality.

I’ve seen “spirits” but believe it’s actually demons.
It doesn’t happen often but I’ve seen them sometimes as people and sometimes they appear as white smoke or a black shadowy figure. I’ve met others who have seen things too at the same time as me so that is a good indication it’s not all in my mind.
Demons are all around us on Earth. Maybe sometimes God allows us to see them to bring us closer to himself. It sure has brought me closer to him!

Please pray, talk to your priest and make sure you stay as holy as you can such as regular confession and frequent Mass. Pray God removes this presence and say the prayer to St Michael the Archangel.

I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you. Temporal lobe seizures can be “silent” (unlike grand mal) but can produce all sorts of things, visual and auditory. When you hear hoofbeats, you don’t look for a zebra, that old adage. Before opening the door to the “other side”, especially unprotected as most are innocent, you just want a base line neurological study. Then you want a sophisticated priest to help you before you open that door alone.
