What would you advice on how to be healed from inner wounds and let go of the past?

Daily prayer and scripture reading, concentrating on the Lord’s Passion and resurrection, the source of all healing. Regular Mass attendance and frequent recourse to the sacraments. Regular time each week for adoration of the Lord in his Blessed Sacrament, or before a crucifix when that is not possible, meditating on the Passion. Service to the Church and God’s poor with the goal of seeing the face of Christ in those whom one serves. Honest recognition of and conviction for one’s sins and confession so that in being forgiven one learns the power of forgiveness and earnest, intentional prayer to the Holy Spirit for the grace and ability to eventually arrive at an appoint where forgiveness of one’s abuser is possible. In that forgiveness lies the means of healing but it does not come overnight. Pray for the conversion of one’s abuser.

The peace of Jesus Christ is the substance of inner healing. When we come to know the Spirit of Jesus Christ within us, we know that we are loved in the present. We come to know a new experience of salvation, a new experience of being cared for, of being picked up by the Lord; we have a new sense of His presence in our life. And that experience can indeed be the key we can use to open closed doors and have memories of past hurts meet the experiences of the present. We can have the love of Jesus Christ we know today meet and come together with the exerience of a time when we thought no one, anywhere, loved us. We see the love of Jesus and the love of God our Father for us in those bad memories. We now know that love is real and we can experience, right in that scene, the same love we experience in our present life with God. Michael Scanlan, Inner Healing.
