Daily prayer and scripture reading, concentrating on the Lord’s Passion and resurrection, the source of all healing. Regular Mass attendance and frequent recourse to the sacraments. Regular time each week for adoration of the Lord in his Blessed Sacrament, or before a crucifix when that is not possible, meditating on the Passion. Service to the Church and God’s poor with the goal of seeing the face of Christ in those whom one serves. Honest recognition of and conviction for one’s sins and confession so that in being forgiven one learns the power of forgiveness and earnest, intentional prayer to the Holy Spirit for the grace and ability to eventually arrive at an appoint where forgiveness of one’s abuser is possible. In that forgiveness lies the means of healing but it does not come overnight. Pray for the conversion of one’s abuser.
