Let me set the tone:
I am returning to the faith, I must admit I was a very immature person who cared about not much of anything for a long time and am seeking atonement. I have been really hard on myself for the things I have done. I was not very devout in the first place, I was not raised in a Catholic home(step dad), I went to CCD and sort of went through the motions.
I was married outside the church while I was a Marine, during a time of war, and was left, I did not ask for the churches permission and since I was left I do not believe that permission was ever granted, do I still need to get a tribunal?
We also had a ceremony, if you can call it that(being outside the church and all), and asked others to celebrate with us, did I ask them to be a part of a scandal?
Am I still responsible for my wife? What do I do about asking all those who were in attendance and or sent/brought gifts?
I am regretting my past mostly for taking the Sacrament of the Holy Spirit, among others, so lightly. I realise now the importance of them and through confession and many Rosary decades, I have been receiving the graces that I was ignorant to.
