Seeking Input on Surrendering to God

One way to surrender to God is to start your day by telling Him that you want His will to be done this day and not yours. If you really pray that prayer from your heart, I know that the Lord will reveal His will to you. Making this a practice will change your life completely. You will learn to discern His voice the more you practice this. Daily surrendering should lead to a closer walk with Jesus.

surrendering means doing things God’s way and not our own… which requires that you know God’s way first, of course… which means (for me) daily Mass when i can make it… frequent confession… and living the Word in daily circumstances/relationships…

this is FAR easier said than done…

it means not being yourself…

When someone tells you that you are a religious fanatic nut case (for example) - because of your beliefs, you can’t “be yourself” if being yourself means replying something like, “well, you are a liberal pig with no morals.”

being Catholic is no fun sometimes…

Sadly, the truth is that no one can completely surrender to God, neither can they completely trust Him or believe Him. If we, as human beings, were capable of that we would have no need of a Savior. All we can do is our best. God asks nothing more and accepts nothing less than that.

Accept what God has to tell you in the Holy Scriptures as it is understood through the Holy Tradition of the Catholic Church. It may go against your grain, but it is nevertheless the truth. Tailor your life accordingly, and you will find peace. security, and bliss.

No one ever completely surrenders to God in this life, but they can reach an accord acceptible to both parties. If you can do what is acceptable to God than you have accomplished much. Now all you have to do is accept it yourself.
