Seeking the Truth with Charity

I noticed quite some time ago that this forum makes that particular statement. All are welcome here who seek the Truth with Charity. Why did the web page creator capitalize the word “charity”? I can understand the word Truth because Jesus is the Truth but why capitalize charity? Is it a particular literary style to personify or highlight a virtue?Just wondering.
 
Maybe “charity” is “universal love” while “Charity” is specifically “RCC love”? 🙂
 
The way I took it is Jesus is Truth and Charity.
So if we have Charity in us we will seek and speak Truth with Charity.
Charity is Love, if God, Jesus is Love He is Charity and it is His Charity that is being refered to when the web page creator put up seek Truth and Charity. So seek Truth and Charity to me means to seek Truth and Love meaning Truth in Love meaning Truth in God and I indentify it with God’s compassion and mercy also. So when I read seek Truth and Charity we are seek God who is Truth and Charity.
But it could just be a gramer thing. Like how the words in the title of a book are all capitalized. Anyway I hope that made some sence.
 
So I guess in other words or to put it more simply seek Truth, Jesus, along with Jesus’ Love, Compassion, and Mercy.
 
IMHO, “charity” is often the one thing lacking in posts here. :o

Amen, Clare…and I would add the another is humility!

Its almost like the fortune cookie game, where, in the case of many CAF posts, before reading, we could add, “You are sinfully wrong, so let me tell you the real truth, that I know and you don’t (lack of charity and humility)”…:cool:
 
Probably because Faith, Hope, and Charity are considered cardinal virtues from which the other virtues derive, and the greatest of these is Charity (Love). The capitalization signifies the esteem in which we hold these things.

Mercy and compassion, in the actions involving love of God, neighbor, and enemy, are that very truth. His body exemplified that truth.
