Hi all,
I am seeking a bible accepted by Catholics that does not have pictures in it of any kind.
Just the Old and New Testament’s.
I would like to order it online.
I’m having trouble finding a Catholic Bible that doesn’t have pictures in it and I don’t want to order something that turns out to have pictures in it.
Part of the reason I’m asking is because I haven’t had much success through my own search at finding a Catholic Bible without pictures in it.

I’m not sure I feel well enough to go out to the book store and check the Bibles for pictures myself.

Please if someone could provide a link to a great Bible with no pictures accepted by Catholics I would greatly appreciate it. I have been reading on the internet but would like a book. It’s a much different experience reading a Bible as a held book.

Peace,
Adam

The New Jerusalem Bible, Standard version, doesn’t have pictures. It’s also an awesome BIble (well, they pretty much all are!).

I just bought the UK version and gave away my US version. Had I known a few days ago, I would have offered it to you!

First let me say thank you to both of you.

To answer your question as to why I want a Bible with just words and no pictures:

I like the effect more of just the words.
I like to rest an Old Testament Bible with just words on my head and body at times while on my bed and I can sense the Bible sort of and I think pictures would interfere with being nourished just by the words of the Bible.

It has a healing effect to rest a bible on my head and body and I feel it would interfere to have a bible with pictures. I want just the words of the Bible.

most inexpensive paperback bible have no pictures, as they cost money to reproduce
try the NAB versions that are less than $10
there is a hardcover NAB for 10.95 (that might be price for bulk orders) the St.Joseph yellow hardcover version, no pictures

Puzzleannie,

I’m sorry I have trouble researching the idea you gave.
Could you let me know if I can get the Bibles you suggested on Amazon.com or Barnes and Noble.com?
You don’t have to research it for me if you don’t know.
I’ll do it when I feel better unless you know now.

Adam
