I enjoy anypart with georges parents in it, The festavus episode always has my sides splitting.
But my fav would have to be when newman and kramer went to court over speeding tickets. And newman was trying to get kramer to lie.

Yeah, that was part of what drew me to the show, was the fact that it featured as occasional cast members an entire older generation who were generally speaking battier and more annoying than their progeny. It didn’t sentimentalize old age, which I guess most conventional tv programming tends to do.

People, people - seriously now, even if you think the show was in bad taste sometimes or full of immorality, are you seriously saying that you don’t know people who are maybe a little like this?

I come from a really small town and I promise you I got a Kramer , a Newman and certainly a George hanging around the diner or the Dunkin’ Donuts and probably some guy who thinks he’s as clever as Jerry Seinfeld.

I was muttering to myself the other day, " This was supposed to be the summer of George!"

The opposite of everything show where George decides to do the opposite of everything and Elaine realizes she is turning into George - was frankly brilliant! Funny and maybe even philosphical at the same time. At least it made me think.

The **** that is on the TV now is mindless and meanspirited . Should adults really be watching cartoons like , The Family Guy? Should anybody be getting paid for producing that stuff?

The meanest thing on Seinfeld was the Soup Nazi and frankly wouldn’t you be cranky if you had to serve soup to all those New Yorkers?

And you got to give Jerry Seinfeld some credit for going to confession to talk to the priest about a guy converting to Judaism solely for the jokes. Too funny!

Ahhh “It’s FESTIVUS… for THE REST OF US”
That just gave me my laugh for the day!

I love the episode where George made the sleeping area under his desk so he could nap at work. I told my boss about it, and we used to joke about doing the same thing in our offices. 🙂

Seriously, I do know people like that. Watching the same behavior as entertainment is just a waste of time. I mean why should I watch actors playing dysfunctional people when I actually live/work around real dysfunctional people? And the entertaining part is what?

Ever since someone decided dysfunctional would be the new character template from Seinfeld, to South Park to Family Guy, they can have it. Me? I’m taking my time with things that are uplifting instead of watching Jerry Seinfeld getting kicked out of a car by some girl he knows and landing on the sidewalk.

I wouldn’t watch a video of dozens of people taking turns banging their heads against a brick wall, but Desperate Housewives wins for showing the numerous ways wealthy and bored, and shallow people can just mess up their lives and smile about it. Isn’t dysfunction fun? No.

God bless,
Ed

I love the one where George is a marine biologist.
“The sea was rough that day my friends…”
I think it was… “the sea was angry that day my friends! like an old man trying to send back soup at the deli!” 😃
