Is the selective service act morally acceptable?
If it is, what about women?
Thank you.

2310 Public authorities, in this case, have the right and duty to impose on citizens the obligations necessary for national defense. Those who are sworn to serve their country in the armed forces are servants of the security and freedom of nations. If they carry out their duty honorably, they truly contribute to the common good of the nation and the maintenance of peace.107
:clapping: :clapping:How could anyone vote for having women eligible for the draft. If a women wants to join the military, she can, but the people who run this country should have no right to force an unwilling female to join the army. There are enough males out there to draft if it ever comes to that again.
I think that every youg adult should be called upon to give a few years of his and her life to serve some civic act. It doesn’t have to only be by serving in the military. There are plenty of worthy civic causes that need hearts and hands. So, yes, service should be incumbent upon young women as well. How could anyone vote for having women eligible for the draft. I am refering to being drafted into the military.I think that every youg adult should be called upon to give a few years of his and her life to serve some civic act. The problem is the government is awfully big, and big agencies might have a tough time relying on sharing information in large numbers to another agengy.I voted it should be abolished, not because I considered morality or immorality, but because it is pointless. Why should young adults have to repeatedly tell the government where they live? Between all the computerized records these days, the government should be able to find all individuals eligible for the draft quite easily, without my having to indicate each time I move to a new dorm or apartment. If I hadn’t just given them my parents address (where I have never lived, as my parents moved), I would have had to tell them my address seven times. Also, I tell the U.S. government my address once a year, on or before April 15. Or, pass a law that allows them to also comb voter registration and drivers license records.
Yep. And I’m saying that it should also be incumbent for our young WOMEN to be expected also to serve.I am refering to being drafted into the military.
