I’m a “when in Rome” kind of guy. I stick to the rubrics unless it would be disruptive or rude. I don’t offer my hand during the Our Father but don’t refuse a hand either.
Last week I went to Mass celebrated by a visiting religious priest. There was self-communion in the manner of priests. I.e., you would go up to the altar and take a host and drink from the chalice. The priest just sat in his chair. I think this may be because he’s a religious and that’s what he’s used to doing. He may have thought it was a legitimate option for anyone. I couldn’t bring myself to receive/take. What would you do?
