I’ve had this bumper sticker in my car for awhile now that says “Know Jesus, know peace, No Jesus, no peace”. Can anyone consider this as self-righteous. Is there anything wrong with having this? Do you think i need to remove this? Any ideas is greatly appreciated. God Bless…:hmmm:

Its not self-righteous to have such a bumper sticker, but it can be seen as a “in your face religion,” which I’ve learned, turns more people off than draws them.

Today, I don’t put any sort of bumper stickers or symbols to show what I believe. I figure, if my life isn’t example enough, then I’m probably not living the gospel as I should.

I have the same keychain. 👍

I don’t think it’s self-righteous – after all, you’re not claiming to be the source of peace, but pointing to the One who is.

While I understand your concern about how others might take it, you should also think of it this way: suppose the car behind you has someone in it who really needs to hear about Jesus. Your bumper sticker might just be the way they decide to turn toward God, instead of away from Him. That certainly isn’t a bad thing!!

In my back window I have the bumper sticker that reads: “My boss is a Jewish carpenter.” I get a lot of weird looks, but a lot of smiles too. 😃

Thank you folks. I do sometimes get weird looks and some smiles too.😃 I’ll probably keep it up for a little while. My intentions were to simply remind people that He is indeed the source of true joy and happiness and peace regardless of what or how heavy your cross seem to be. :bowdown2:

I don’t think it’s self-righteous at all. It doesn’t say anything about you personally being “saved” or whatever. A protestant friend of mine had the same bumper sticker awhile back.

My favorite bumper sticker is “Angry? Need a weapon? Pray the Rosary.” But I don’t have it on my current car. 🙂

It’s not self righteous yet people can know peace without knowing Jesus.

Very true.

I don’t use bumper stickers any more because they can set off people who are passionate about a topic, but disagree with you. I can make enemies easily enough without my car helping out!

But I don’t think the bumper sticker mentioned by fcozen is self-righteous, or “in your face”. I see it as a quiet statement of belief which might encourage someone to think about their own life. It might even prompt that person to approach the driver with friendly questions.

When my dear Grandmother was alive, I used to walk to her house past one of her neighbours who had a bumper sticker on their front door(!) that said “I am covered in the blood of Jesus” That used to make me think “eeewww” every time I saw it!

Well it has been my experiecne that most people who claim to know Jesus really dont.

That one always puzzles me. The “boss” relationship is so often a difficult one. I certainly don’t think of Him as a boss. Friend, Savior, perhaps brother, definitely Love of my life, but not “boss.” Just me… 🤷

No, I doubt this is a self-righteous attempt. I think even if it is, the message is still good, even though it sounds a bit ‘evangelical’.

I don’t think it’s self righteous. I don’t put religios bumper stickers on my car though because if I accidentally cut someone off, I don’t want to put them off LOL
