Seminarian Homily

I attended a Mass today in which a seminarian (not the celebrant priest) gave the homily. The priest performed the entirety of the consecration, however. Nevertheless, I wanted to know if the mass was valid…
My question for you about this whole topic is: Was it a good homily?

I haven’t been on this forum very long, but I see a whole lot of form over substance debates. I don’t go to Mass like an auditor with a checklist. I go to worship God, experience the joy I feel there, and become closer to Christ. If I go to Mass with these objectives, the specifics of who gives the homily, if the rubrics aren’t followed exactly, or there is something that doesn’t meet my expectations become less important.

I suggested that the OP was in his/her rights to change parishes if he/she found the liturgical abuses to be spiritual inhibiting. …
Where is this “right to change parishes” defined?

A person has a right to choose where to live, but I don’t see anything indicating a suggestion that someone move to a different parish.

So again, where is the “right to change parishes” found?

I must have missed that in Canon Law class when we were discussing the Obligations and Rights of the Christian Faithful.

Here is the Code of Canon Law

Please show me a “right” to change parishes.

What I mean by that is the faithful should place their spiritual wellbeing above everything else. If this means changing parishes, then one should do so. I didn’t consider the jurisdictional implications such an action might have, but I don’t know of anything that would inhibit someone attending a different parish that better fulfills their pastoral needs. Regardless, I have done far more harm than good with my posts on this thread so I respectfully excuse myself from this conversation, Father.
