Seminarian - please pray

I am a seminarian in the east coast of Canada. All my friends are baptized but say things like I can’t see any purpose to going to mass at all. I am fighting the terrible sin of hopelessness with all that I’ve got. I need prayers to continue my theological studies.

Lord, may you give our brother seminarian the grace to obey and follow your leading. Strengthen his faith in you. This I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Give them humility, meekness, prudence, and a burning zeal for soul. Fill their hearts with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Teach them to know and love the church, that they may always and everywhere speak, act, and think with her, the glorious spouse of Christ.

Teach them generosity and detachment from wordly goods; but above all, teach them to know You and to love the One and Only Eternal Priest. good Shepherd of Souls, hear this my prayer for saintly priests.

Dear Samuel,
How the evil one would laugh if you gave in to the feelings of hopelessness! A very wise friend told me once, the closer we get to God, the harder the evil one fights–the nastier the tricks become.
Just knowing you are in the seminary gives me hope for the future of our faith. Keep going—we are all praying for you. Come here anytime you need:thumbsup:

Dear Tenfootpole,
This is such great news! You are a seminarian! We have hope! Please don’t let other people steal your joy - they will try – but don’t let them! You well know that satan is the father of lies and there are many liars out there who will try to deceive you. Be on your guard and all of us will be lifting you up to the Lord. The angels must be rejoicing! God has chosen you to be a special one of His. That is so wonderful. I will keep praying for you, dear soul! God bless you. I am so happy for you!!

White martyrdom is hard. I can’t tell you how many times others have attacked my faith in my call to religious life as a future nun. Know you are in my prayers in a very special way. I pray for all the seminarians of our diocese at my Bishop’s request. I will offer you up in my life of prayer and service too. May the Lord give you peace and perseverance in this time of trial and uncertainty in your vocation. When the devil attacks are numerous, then you know you are on the right path. Just keep on it, and look to Jesus when you feel weak in the spiritual battle.
 
I will offer up all my prayers and sufferings that I am going thru right now for your strength and courage!!
