Serious dilemma regarding a friend and abortion

As I mentioned in a different thread, my best friend got his girlfriend pregnant. And they are wanting to get an abortion, they already have a date set to go to the abortion clinic. Now he is my best friend, we’ve been friends since we were little. His parents have no idea what’s going on, they don’t even know that she is pregnant, and he told me that he will not tell them anything. I feel almost obliged to tell his parents what happened. I feel that I have the ability to stop them from killing this baby by telling his parents. But he is my best friend, and I’m afraid if he finds out that I told them, he will no longer want to be my friend. I also need some serious intercession from any saint that could help in this matter. I don’t know what to do. Please give me some of your opinions.

It’s a matter of life and death. Are you ready to explain your decision to Jesus at the pearly gates? Actually, if you think that you’d need to explain it to Him, such as because you were afraid of losing his friendship, it was the wrong decision.

Pray to the Holy Innocents killed by Herod in place of Jesus for their intercession.

Well, gut reaction is to tell the parents right now if you are
saving someone’s life (baby). You would be a true friend to
save him from the worst mistake of his life. I would be more
afraid of God not being your friend than him, he can’t get you
into heaven.

That’s what I know, but realize that in real life, it’s harder.

It would be great if you could convince him to tell his own parents,
or his girlfriend’s parents. Could you call the abortion alternatives
number in the yellow pages for good advice? I’m sure they have
lots of experience with this. They are usually the first place listed
in the yellow pages.:gopray2:

You HAVE to tell them. But you also have to tell his parents not to tell on you. It’s not as if they wouldn’t eventually find out anyway. He has probably told others. You could tell the girl’s parents instead if you know them well enough. Or if they would prevent it. It’s also possible that she has told people. I’m sure they’d (his parents) understand.

Well if it costs you the friendship, perhaps he will thank you in heaven. You need to tell his parents not only for the sake of the baby, but for the good of the souls of your friend and his girlfriend.
 
Do everything you possibly can to save this innocent life! Try to talk your friend out of the abortion. Have them consider adoption. Try to get the parents to tell their family’s. If you can’t do it, talk to his and her parents. I wish I had some more links to some real pro-life agency’s. all.org/index.php

I can tell my friend doesn’t like the idea of the abortion, but he’s so naive he won’t say anything. I’m trying really hard to talk them both out of the abortion, she keeps saying she doesn’t want to go through the pregnancy at such a young age, and i keep telling her that she should have thought of that before they decided to sleep together without protection. If i can’t talk them out of it, i will have no choice but to go to the parents. Please remember this unborn child in your prayers.
 
Please be a hero and save the baby!

Call her parents. Call his parents. Call whoever you have to.

He might be concerned about what his parents are going to say to him. He might also be afraid and confused…so, please pray and take action as soon as you can and talk to his parents for him. He might not understand why you do it, but he will know eventually and he will know you do the right thing.

If you let this go without telling the parents, you probably be regret.

God bless and I pray that He gives you strength to do this.
 
It’s a dilemma if and only if you believe that “Thou shalt do no murder” has exceptions.

Please do everything you can to save that child’s life.
There are so many people who would give anything to have a child and cannot – mention that the gift of adoption is the gift of life, not only for the child, but for the family who longs to hold a child in their arms.

Praying for you, that you have the strength to do what you already know you need to do. Praying that God will open the hearts and minds of your friend and his girlfriend, and that this child will be saved. :crossrc: :hug1:

Abortion and contraception are sins. I think that the problem is not the baby who will probably go to heaven, the problems are the parents who don’t care about right and wrong.
If you are afarid of losing your friend then you prefer “the glory of men” to “the Glory of God”

I am one of those people. Abortion breaks my heart; I would give anything to adopt any one of those babies that another mother doesn’t want. There are so many people out there in the same situation. Your friend could turn their mistake into a huge blessing for someone else by giving the child for adoption, rather than turning their mistake into an even worse one that will torment both of them forever.

If you can get them to watch the movie, Bella (on DVD), I highly recommend it. That movie is powerful enough to change hearts on abortion.

OUTSTANDING. You are in my prayers

After talking to the parents i suggest you try and convince your friend and his girlfrined viisit a crisis pregancy cente.
 
Reff, I am a volunteer at a Crisis Pregnancy Center…if you’d like to PM me and tell me what city you are in we might be able to find one there. If we do this is what we do next. You tell your friend and his girlfriend that she actually may not need the abortion. 25% of all pregnancies miscarry naturally…so before they go through the expense and pain of an abortion, go to the crisis pregnancy center for an ultrasound to see if there is, what they call a viable pregnancy…she could also have something called a blighted ovum, which would give a positive pregnancy test but there is just an empty sac. My point is there are some real strong reasons, like these, that you can tell them before the go to the abortion clinic that will lead them to the clinic where they can be counseled and given all the truths about the procedure. You just need to get them there so she can see that ultrasound and get that info…
Our clinic to date since 2005 have saved, through God’s Grace, probably now, almost 3000 babies.
Let me know and I will help you every step of the way okay!! Because I just thought of this…you might be surprised and when you tell his parents, they might want her to go through with the abortion anyway. You’d be surprised at the very"Christian" people we’d get at the clinic who are abortion minded…

You are fighting the good fight. Keep the faith of the Apostles in Jesus Christ, come to Him as a child and He’ll keep you from harm spreading His love.
