Thank you everyone, please continue to pray for this unborn child. I’ve decided tomorrow after mass I will be sitting down with his parents and telling them everything. For the sake of this beautiful child.
Today’s reading speak of Paul being strengthened by God in his efforts. I pray that same spirit will fill you as you do what needs to be done. Courage, my friend, is strong love.

This press release from the Vatican reminds me of this situation.
“Those who fear God are serene even amidst the storms because God, as Jesus revealed to us, is a Father full of mercy and goodness. Those who love Him are not afraid. … Believers, then, are afraid of nothing, because they know they are in the hands of God, they know that evil and the irrational will not have the last word, but that the one Lord of the world and of life is Christ, the Word of God incarnate”.

you might be surprised and when you tell his parents, they might want her to go through with the abortion anyway. You’d be surprised at the very"Christian" people we’d get at the clinic who are abortion minded.
This is a very real danger. How well do you know your friend’s parents? How pro-life are they?

I, too, used to volunteer at a crisis pregnancy center, and you’d be amazed at how often girls seek abortions because their parents pressure them into doing so.

Do try to get your friends in the door of a crisis pregnancy center. The staff there can help them withstand external pressure to abort.

God bless your efforts! Saint Gianna Molla, pray for them.

Yes, philothea, yes yes. So, you know first hand what I am talking about. Amazing how it can be their first Grandbaby and they are pressuring the mommy to abort. So very sad.
Reff, we need to get her to the center. Like I said, I am here, and philothea, who has first hand experience with this, as well. I have been thinking about this situation during the night and today. Please, if you can, keep us updated, and we will help in ANY way we can. I, at least, speak for myself. But I am sure philothea feels the same way.
God Bless you!!

to the OP:

Please let your friends know there are many loving couples praying for a child. I have read the heartbreak on these very forums. It would be sheer torture for them to know a life lost could have been the gift they take home to love and raise.

Misinformed friends told my daughter to get an abortion, the sperm donor told her to get one too. My DH and I fought for the life of the innocent she was carrying. We didn’t drown her in the “sin” and “mortal sin” sin arguement. We told her that the child she is carrying is a living, breathing human being. A group of cells…my big toe! Don’t let anyone tell you or your friends any different.

We told our daughter that there is a couple out there waiting for her child. The agency we contacted said she could choose:

OPEN Adoption
Semi OPEN Adoption
or CLOSED Adoption

She chose OPEN Adoption. She picked and interviewed the parents of her child. She met with them throughout her pregnancy with her counselor. My DH and I met them as well. It was a win-win situation. My daughter had a say in who would parent this child. Among all the families she looked over, she chose the only Catholic family in the group. Imagine that! The Holy Spirit was present and accounted for! Saints be praised!

The arguement of “I don’t think I could go through pregnancy and just give my baby away”…arguement isn’t valid. My daughter didn’t “give away” her child…she placed her child in arms of a woman who would love it more than anything.

That was 2 yrs ago. Please, please talk to your friends and yes, make sure their parents know. If your parents are supportive of you, let them go with you when you talk to theirs.

They know they have sinned…don’t beat them over the head with it. Focus on the “innocent” who does not have a voice right now, but has a beating heart. Remember there is a couple out there praying for this child to be theirs…let this innocent be the answer.

You are good friend…speak for the innocent.

Nothing more to add, but hoping that the talk with the BF’s parents were fruitful…
