In response to the OP, there cannot be any evidence because none of the Book of Mormon happoened. It would be like looking for evidence of the battle that occurred in Narnia.
Mormons have had to make the Book of Mormon a moving target. First it happend in Central America…until it was clear it could not have, then it happened in South America. Nope. Then in the Great Lakes region. Nope.
But we caught a break. MANY LDS prophets and Apostles DECLARED as fact that the Cumorah in New York was the same as the one the Book of Mormon. They DECLARED as fact that the great and enorpus war occured at that Cumorah in New York. They discussed it General Conference, it was written in Church Publications…it was a FACT.
Then it became clear that archeology would not support that fact.
So it became a moving target, too. Suddenly, all of those declarations by prophets were just opinions…suddenly, they have no clue where it is.
It would be hysterical if it were not so tragic.
