Serious question why is masturbation so bad?

I would like to make a case today, and I would like to make this a case in which I am understood very clearly.

I was browsing trough this forum and came upon a topic of masturbation, alright. People are talking here off, mortal sins, hell, purgatory etc. Now I know the bible goes against masturbation but my case is the following.

A priest is celibate, however a priest has a very long education and training before being a priest. I do not know how long that training is give or take 4-5 years, longer maybe? In that time spawn, they are also helped with celibacy.

Now as a average joe, no one really teaches you. So when a priest needs 4-5 years for it, why if it is so bad. Does the church not give more atention to this? I am a single guy, and the most I hear in church is stuff about couples. The single person gets left out of the mixture a bit. And no support whatsoever, so if it is so bad. Why does the church not pay more atention to this.

After all everyone has the impulse it cannot be denied.
 
Because it can seriously affect your Eyesight.

Okay - first of all, masturbation is considered a sin because it separates the marital act from, well, the marital embrace. The marital act is to be only done within the marital embrace, which means that it is only to be done between a husband and a wife. Masturbation reduces the marital act to simply one’s self-pleasure. And in most cases, especially in men, masturbation is accompanied by lust, usually lust about someone who is not the man’s wife. According to Jesus, to lust after someone to whom one is not married is to already have committed adultery with that person in one’s heart. In other words, the only thing keeping one from committing adultery with the other person is simply the means to be able to.

Now, as you’ve stated, though, the Church often does seem to often neglect single, non-consecrated persons. There is truly a reason why many single, non-consecrated people fall away from the Church - there often simply seems to be no place for them, unless they are college students with a Newman Center or other Catholic Campus Ministry. As people in developed countries delay marriage longer and longer, actively focusing on single, non-consecrated people needs to be made a priority as much as focusing on married couples and consecrated people and ordained men.
 
Masturbation is wrong for the same reason homosexual activity and contraception are wrong – sexual activity is meant for married couples and must be open to life (which masturbation is not . . . to be blunt, it’s totally selfish). Just because folks have “impulses” to do it doesn’t make it all right; thanks to original sin we all have “impulses” to do lots of things we shouldn’t be doing.

Though you totally seem to miss my point. The catholic church for example does expect gay people to not have sexual conduct, but does not even teach them/guide them on how to live as a celibate. That undermines the whole problem now doesn’t it.

Why would a priest get 4-5 years of training, and still fail. And would that same church expect the singles the gays to just do it with the flick of the fingers as if it were easy to go against that natural impulse that we biologically have.

Thanks you seem to to get my point, I am a single man and will probably stay so because I like to live like that. I don’t think I would be a good one for a relationship but the church I think sometimes fails in this aspect.
 
I know that some parishes offer classes and groups on chaste life now to help single people in the church.
 
Im constantly amused by commrnts on this subject which continue like a Carosel …
