IAnd that old things are passed away and you are a new Creature. If you continue to sin you repent but you are no longer under the original sin and you are new.
And though your soul
It can’t be bought
Your mind can wander
U2-Vertigo

We have to be careful about being casual about repenting. Our minds do wander easily, we can take for granted that we will be on the train home. And in reality have wandered off so that we dont hear the conductor.
I believe that if you have faith in Jesus you can do the things he has done and more because he has gone to the father. I believe the things we can do like Jesus is only done through him,not through our works but by his righteouness.
True we do all things through Him. We need to do all our work as if we are working for Him. His righteousness does not shine if we dont perform our work.
I don’t believe sickness is from GOD but I believe he allows it for his reasons.
He makes the rain fall on the good and the bad, it is what it is. God does not send sickness it is there because of sin.
I don’t accept physical death as GOD given because Jesus never said you were dead but asleep because he took death away from us who believes in him.
Interesting thought. My sis-in-love says that to Gods prespective death doesnt matter we can still be with Him either way. Death only matters to us.
I believe the kingdom of heaven is within you and you hold the key to unlocking it.
I really understand what you are saying, but I tell you dont say it. This statement is too close to the power within you. You are god within. *The Secret * (book out now) kind of close enough statement that leads people to think its sorta like God so its ok

The story of Tobias and Sara in brief:
Sara had been promised in marriage 7 times before Tobias. Each time she married and her husband took her to his bed, the groom died before morning. Tobias was the relative of Sara’s Father from a distant land. He had been directed by an angel to marry Sara. He asked about all her “other” husbands and pleaded that he was an only child and did not wish to die. The angel told him that the reason the others had died was because they took Sara as a wife but not intending to live a marriage that included God. Sara was somehow indwelled with a devil or evil spirit and the angel commanded Tobias to pray with Sara for 3 days without taking her to his bed, burn the liver of a specific fish that was said to kill devils and then afer that he was to marry Sara. As you can imagine, everyone including Sara was afraid that Tobias would die. Some of the locals even dug a grave for him. When Sara and Tobias prayed for 3 days then wed, she and Tobias prayed before they consummated their marriage. The next morning they sent a maid in to see if he were dead and he was alive and sleeping next to his wife Sara.

It is a testament to trusting God and keeping to his design for marriage. In Catholic weddings it is to remind us that marriage is a covenantal relationship between a man, a woman and God. It is also a reminder to keep God at the center of our marriages and never act with lust or impure intentions within your marriage. It is actually a beautiful story of trust.

Sorry I got off the original topic, but I thought it was worth sharing.

Thank you. What I meant was how do you define fear–like scare to death that if you do something wrong God will get you or do you guys have a different def.😃
Fear is defined in the red type… it is the ear of separation from Christ, possibly due to false teachings or fear of displeasing God. God is mercy and love… it is about not living up to that love and mercy… not being good enough.

I will try to explain later, I just got an email from my pastor about a question on another thread I had…

Thank you–FCEGM actually explained it–so you dont have too:thumbsup:

Don’t forget: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,” Proverbs 1:7.

And don’t confuse servile fear with filial fear. The filial fear that we should have connects us to Divine Charity; we flee from sin because it is an offense against the One Who loves us and against those who are loved by God.

It brings with it freedom from scrupulousness and from repression and tenseness. It frees us from the temptations and sins to which we formerly were prone. Most of all, the source of filial fear is God Himself, not ourselves who are so prone to many fears that constrict our giving ourselves to Him. Fear of the Lordis a gift of the Holy Spirit; it is not something we suddenly decide to take upon ourselves. Because it comes from Him it brings with it an openness of spirit, a boldness without presumption in approaching what formerly would have been a source of temptation, i.e., engaging with others who might have led us away from God. Now, however, the soul endowed with great fear of the Lord is able to draw others to the good, the true and the beautiful.

Since it grows out of true love (itself a gift from God) the fear of God makes us less fearful in following His commands, it makes us determined to live a life of virtue seeking after true holiness. This fear allows us to see ourselves and our weaknesses but also to live in great hope because now our confidence is placed in God and not in ourselves. This will be especially true if one has had such an encounter with God such as to make the soul fully aware of the offenses against Him.
Absolutely beautiful answer!!!
