Is there a “branch” of Catholocism under the authority of the Vatican that is recognized to be of a “Brazillian line of Apostolic succession”?

Or is this affiliated in some way with the Eastern Orthodox?

…or is it just another Protestant branch calling itself Apostolic?

Curious.

I dont think this group is recognized by either the RCC or the EO’s. There are literally hundreds of Orthodox and Roman Catholic “Wannabees” and this is most likely one of them.

Interesting that they see the Eucharist in very Catholic terms though…

One of their “Bishops”, Charles Klughart and I answer questions and “pipe in” under here. Sometimes he sounds very Catholic and other times not.

I’m semi-interested in hearing the explanation of the Apostolic line they claim - so one day just may ask him flat out.

The Servants of the Good Shepherd is an Orthodox Church containing Valid holy orders though not in communion with Rome. We have in our records a letter sent from the Vatican saying as much. We are recognized as valid but illicit, because we do not recognize the Pope as infallible. As in all orthodox churches we are governed by a Synod of Bishops, who elect a Metropolitan Archbishop to preside, and govern the day to day matters of the Church. Our lines run through Brazil mine run through Brazil the Philippines, and the Union of Utrecht.

It seems my post disappeared which is a shame so I’ll repeat it The Servants of the Good Shepherd maintain a letter from the Vatican attesting to the validity of our orders, and are a Catholic Jurisdiction. Since there are numerous patriarchs,a nd the pope is just one of those valid patriarchs Catholicism is not limited to the Roman Catholic Church as you all are well aware so to put this thought together we are Catholics following something similar to 75/25 Roman/Orthodox approach to Catholicism some of our membership prefer to celebrate the liturgy using sacraments Highly Orthodox some highly Roman, and some in between. I myself prefer to use the Divine Liturgies of St. John of Chrysostom, and St. Basil the great which I received permission to celebrate. The main thing to remember is all of our Apostolic lines come from the Apostles, which come from the Son, and we all serve the Christ with our hearts, and minds loving him, and his message deeply.

Hmmm . . . the problem is the self-willed expression in these independent traditions. Neither Rome nor the Orthodox would consider them to be “anything” and Orthodoxy in particular does not accept a “half-full” ecclesiology.

I used to know a number of members of independent jurisdictions, some of which canonized their own saints. Unfortunately, they were neither fish nor fowl.
