Centre, Mother Wendy - Foundress and Superior - with two married Catholic women (Australian) novices
The Lent 2008 newsletter of The Servants of The Sacred Cross is published on their website:

This is a unique religious order in that it is ecumenical in nature and is open to Catholic women in that there is nothing to preclude membership in Canon Law nor Church teaching and a practising Catholic women is quite able to enter. The Order has been warmly welcomed by our Catholic Archbishop Hickey of Perth in Western Australia who has conducted some receptions into the order - the Sisters wear a semi traditional habit and are either single, married, divorced or widowed women. All wear the habit although only mandatory at times for those active Sisters - their website explains all. There are no age restrictions nor health and members live in their own homes…other than the contemplative Sisters. There are quite a few Catholic women in this Order. I have read some really excellent and inspiring reports about the Sisters of the SSC. It has grown very quickly seeing it is only a relatively new foundation and continues to grow very quickly.
The Sisters have now a live in semi contemplative convent in Nova Scotia. The Order is Canadian in origin.
All information can be located on their website.
