Served my first Mass!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to say that I served my first Holy Mass today. I’m a college student and we have a Cardinal Newman Center on campus and I got to serve this last Sunday. I liked it alot, even though I was a bit slow on somethings. (Like putting the Corporal and Chalices on the Altar.) But Father helped me through it and I really enjoyed it. 🙂
 
Haha Congratulations! I recently served my first Mass after a long time on September 13th. I did the same job as you, and thankfully didn’t make a mistake. It’s okay if you’re slow on things. I served when I was a bit younger, then quit, but came back. So, I think of Sept. 13th as my first Mass I served in a while. When I served when I was little, I was quite nervous and messed up here and there, nothing too big. Glad you had fun serving. God Bless!

I was nervous too, but as the Mass progressed I felt better about things and really enjoyed it. 🙂
 
Congratulations! My two youngest boys serve. It it truly a blessing and honor.
 
It is definitely a blessing and honor. I was also just trained to be an Extraordinary Minister of the Most Holy Eucharist today. Normally I would be hesitant to do so, but in this case we are in need of “EM’s” in order to receive Communion under both Species. So I’m looking forward to serving our Lord in many ways this year. Pray for me! 🙂

I probably would have thought that you were being reverent rather than slow. 😃

THANKSGIVING AFTER MASS (SAINT THOMAS AQUINAS)

Lord, Father all-powerful and ever-living God, I thank You, for
even though I am a sinner, your unprofitable servant, not
because of my worth but in the kindness of your mercy,
You have fed me with the Precious Body & Blood of Your Son,
our Lord Jesus Christ.
I pray that this Holy Communion may not bring me
condemnation and punishment but forgiveness and salvation.
May it be a helmet of faith and a shield of good will.
May it purify me from evil ways and put an end to my evil passions.
May it bring me charity and patience, humility and obedience,
and growth in the power to do good.
May it be my strong defense against all my enemies, visible and invisible, and the perfect calming of all my evil impulses,
