At the formerly “indult” Mass that I sometimes attend, the altar servers come together after Mass, in front of the tabernacle, kneel down, and say some sort of prayer. I can’t hear it; its only visual.

What are they doing?

I’ve searched the Net and found a prayer for after Mass for altar servers. But I don’t think that’s the prayer they’re saying after the Tridentine Mass.

Any ideas?

Have you considered asking them or the priest?

After all, THEY are more likely to know the answer to your question, aren’t they?

If it is a low Mass, chances are they are reciting the Prayers after Low Mass…Ave Maria, Salve Regina, and St. Michael prayer.

We say those altogether at our Chapel. Father leads them, but the entire congregation joins him.

No, its not the Leonine prayers. I’m familiar with those after Low Mass.

Has anyone ever seen altar servers at the Novus Ordo say a prayer together after Mass?

I am in charge of the altar boys at our TLM. If it is like what I do with the servers after Mass, they are making their thanksgiving. I don’t require any particular prayers, but instruct them to thank our Lord for the Mass, the privilege of serving, and for having received Him in holy communion.
