As a father if two boys that I wish I could encourage vocations with, I have no idea if I could encourage them to consider any seminary I am aware of. I cannot in good conscience steer them to the one my diocese uses.

participating in a gay subculture at a seminary should get the priest or bishop laicized. A willing seminarian should also be removed from the program.

Holy Orders all about service to God, not about finding a date.

— and whether this misconduct was situated in the context of an alleged long-standing homosexual subculture that could still be in place today.
Even though there is no conclusion drawn on this question in the article, the implication is non the less there that the “sub-culture” still exists. Another question is, how long has it been there?

As far as I know, the seminaries used by my diocese have had no problems, and the bishop has been quite selective as what seminaries he will use.

I have hears of some seminaries with homosexual subcultures among both students and faculty in some places in the past, but I thought that those had been corrected. But maybe it persists in some places.

I think this has become a problem everywhere. It doesn’t matter where you go or what you set out to do we have to remember the difference between what is right and what is wrong and live our lives accordingly…
