So, this evening I did my seven-church tour after a few years where I did not do it. At the one church I visited, I had a nice surprise. A friend from a couple years back was in the same university as me. He left mid-way through junior year to enter the seminary back in my hometown. After my senior year, I moved back to my hometown where he is in seminary. This evening, while in my prayers at this church, he came up to me. He was so happy with how his life is going. It was so awesome to catch up with him. I have been thinking about how he’s been doing, and tonight was like a God-send.

I remember this guy from college, and he seemed not so happy with his life, but when I saw him tonight, he was beaming. I am so happy for him. It was a nice “Easter surprise” for me.

How nice that you got to reconnect with your friend as part of your tour. I am glad you had such a nice experience for Easter and also that you were able to do the tour.

I too managed to complete my seven-church tour. Did not meet any old friends though.

I never heard of visiting seven-churches. When I think of the number seven I think of the American Feast of the Seven Fishes. The feast begin in Italy and they ate any number of fish on Christmas Eve. In America it is traditional to eat seven types of fish.

On Holy Thursday you visit 7 churches. Some people do it any time on Thursday or Good Friday and others try to do all 7 during the prayer time when the Blessed Sacrament is on the Altar of Repose.
