Your’re welcome–at least Ican say that I tried.

No effort required.

I didn’t compare you with him–I gave him as a similar instance, or like example.

Prove it.
.of course my identity is anonymous…so is yours and everyone elses.{/quote]I can’t speak for others, my name is David J. Conklin.

You are more than a bit confused…he was in Missouri…the other person, Aussie Jaz, is in Australia.
I know it’s a lot to keep track of
And both have the same grammar skills! Who’d of thunk! Love dealing with sock puppets!

u know very well that admission records are confidental, thats why u told me to prove it…
I dodn’t ask for you to prove where you went to school–the request for proof was for the claim that you made: “where lies were their forte.”

…u should also know that proper research is even more important than grammar and punctuation.
And I have bibliographies to prove it.
its wonderful that u give you name out to everyone…i like a little more security on the web, however…i just dont feel like having someone put a credit card in my name…fd
Put yourself in God’s hands and you’ll having nothing to fear, for as the Bible says “Perfect love, casts out all fear.” Since I tell the truth at all times, I have nothing to hide. Nor, am I paranoid.

i was to busy serving my country and getting an education.
ROFL! You hide it so well! Got a merit badge in camo?
as opposed to an indoctrination…hmmm
Interesting how some always assume that others were indocirtinated–if they even knew what the term meant they wouldn’t be so flippant about using it.
that threat is typical sda behavior though
What threat? Seeing things that don’t exist?
“how dare u question my prophets credibility”.
I don’t have a prophet. I also don’t have a priest who denies the Holocaust.

im not a catholic so your priest comment is wasted on me…are u seriously telling me that the sda doesnt consider e. white a prophet?..their worshipful adoration tells a different story…are u also telling me that “the critics of e.g. white and the sda that have to watch out” isnt a threat?..im sure that you will SAY it isnt, but thats just hairsplitting…u do seem typical sda though… you worked yourself into quite a lather because there are people for whom the indoctrination didnt take…why so defensive…or is it just arrogance?..btw…thanxs for mocking my military service…is service only acceptable if the soldier is desmond doss?..also… much like e.e. cummings,i never capitalise…business communication, yes…casual communication, no…fd

And I don’t have a prophet so your remark about having one is wasted on me.
are u seriously telling me that the sda doesnt consider e. white a prophet?..
Some do; I don’t.
their worshipful adoration tells a different story
ROFL! And you bought that lie?
are u also telling me that “the critics of e.g. white and the sda that have to watch out” isnt a threat?..
Correct.
you worked yourself into quite a lather because there are people for whom the indoctrination didnt take…
I’m too old to work into any lather for any reason. I see you got a merit badge in propaganda tho’ and you like to use it.
.thanxs for mocking my military service…
Never did that. Why did you lie about me like that? Typical of critics of teh the SDA’s.
much like e.e. cummings,i never capitalise…business communication, yes…casual communication, no…fd
Nice try to cover your lack of even basic grammar skills. But, Cummings was a poet; casual conversation isn’t poetry and you aren’t a poet.

On another forum there was a guy just like you. He claimed he went to 3 SDA colleges–yeah, fall quarter for one, winter winter quarter for the second and spring quarter for the third. Each found out how bad his grammar was and it showed itself further in his reading and comprehension skills and so they threw him out.

no…i didnt buy any sda lies…thats why i rejected them…e.e. cummings didnt capitalise…neither do i…thats not a comment about poetry…its about capitalization…nice try though…lolol…before u crack on others grammer, u should proofread your own…of course commenting on my writing and capitalisation is just a ruse…u really havent done anything but make snide remarks…btw…are u admitting that the sda lied and that e.g. white is a phony?..insisting that threatening language isnt a threat doesnt make it less so…really?..u didnt mock my service?..what about your “merit badge in camo” remark…if u lie less often u wont have to hurry up and try to spin what u said, i.e…threatening comments and mocking of service…fd

i didnt buy any sda lies…
The lie was that SDA’s have a worshipful attitude towards EGW.
e.e. cummings didnt capitalise…neither do i…thats not a comment about poetry
e. e. cumings was a poet–you are not. It’s not just the lack of capitalisation that is the problem.
before u crack on others grammer, u should proofread your own…
Since I never claimed to be an expert and you haven’t offered any proof of grammatical errors on my part, your quip falls woefully short of hitting any mark.
of course commenting on my writing and capitalisation is just a ruse…
See previous post ab’t the medium being the message.
are u admitting that the sda lied and that e.g. white is a phony?..
Never said anything even remotely suggesting that. And if you had been an Adventist then you’d know that her foremost critic (Canright) called her “a noble Christian woman.”
u didnt mock my service?..what about your “merit badge in camo” remark…
  1. We have no evidence that you served. 2) They don’t give merit badges in the military, so that is a hint. 3) Look up metaphor.
if u lie less often u wont have to hurry up and try to spin what u said
I don’t tell lies. You can’t read too well and your comprehension of what you have read is as low as your grammar skills. That is why you tell lies about me.

Please stay on topic and remember your charity!
👍
We try. But it is kind of like the verses in Proverbs about answering a fool. You’re not supposed to be foolish when doing it, but the slide downhill is easier than the uphill climb! 👍

thats pretty funny…u like to talk about others grammer in a negative way…i KNOW youre not an expert, but since u keep making commets about it the only inference i can draw is that you have assumed that mantle…YOU said that i was lied to about egw…now your trying to intimate that my statement itself was untrue…in doing so u contradicted yourself…nice try, though…of course there is no evidence…as u know, mi;itary records are confidential…thats why u said that…fyi…i was stationed at ft. sam, ft.meade, ft lee,ft sill and waler reed…if u never lived at an sda boarding school u have nothing to base your comments on, do u?..u do a wonderful job of saying something and then insisting that something else was meant…keep denying it, though…it makes your lying very noticable…keep trying to prove i wasnt sda…thats about the only defence u have left…should i mention the book and bible house?..how about mission spotlight?..how about the ss classes"…cradle roll, primary…juniors…earliteen…how about having to wash someone elses nasty feet every 13th sabbath…maybe i should talk about eg white being used as a companion piece for the bible?..how about egw’s strictures on eating in between meals?..the list is endless…btw…being called a fool by a chucklehead really doesnt bother me…smooches…fd

u like to talk about others grammer in a negative way…i KNOW youre not an expert, but since u keep making commets about it the only inference i can draw is that you have assumed that mantle…
  1. You assumed way to much about me.
  2. Your grammar is atrocious. Even grade school graduates can do better.
  3. I have published an article in a scholarly, refereed journal and the editor said the reviewers noted its “high quality and cogent tone”–we then edited it further for another two years making it even better. Now, it typing that in I made simple spelling mistakes–which I then went back and fixed.
YOU said that i was lied to about egw…now your trying to intimate that my statement itself was untrue…in doing so u contradicted yourself…
Since you clipped the references I cannot tell what you are talking about. However, I can say that your conclusion doesn’t follow from what you have said.
of course there is no evidence…as u know, mi;itary records are confidential…thats why u said that…
  1. That is not why I said what I said.
  2. Military records are not confidential. See military-record.net/ for example.
if u never lived at an sda boarding school u have nothing to base your comments on, do u?..
Which remark was this related to? Why do you clip the references?
keep trying to prove i wasnt sda
I’ve never said that you weren’t an SDA.
how about having to wash someone elses nasty feet every 13th sabbath…
Christ did 12 very dusty feet and He didn’t complain. Are you too good to follow in the footsteps of your Master? I’m quite sure that the congregants at church washed their feet before they came to church that week.
…it makes your lying very noticable…
I never tell lies. BTW, you forgot the ‘e’ in “noticeable.”
maybe i should talk about eg white being used as a companion piece for the bible?..
Who does that? I’ve been an SDA for over 45 years and have never seen anyone do that.
how about egw’s strictures on eating in between meals?..
Try searching for "eating between meals “surgeon general” and see what you find.

“Under stress, some people may develop poor eating behaviors. Two of these, overeating and eating between meals resulting in weight gain, are common fixed responses to stress.” found at ext.vt.edu/pubs/ftc/354-104/354-104.html

“C. Everett Koop, M.D., Sc.D, former Surgeon General of the United States, produces the first Surgeon General’s Report on Nutrition and Health in 1988. It was based on an exhaustive review of the scientific literature. He concluded that “dietary excess and imbalance” contributed significantly to eight of the leading killer diseases in our country.” found at tofm.org/Health/GoodHealth.htm

“Frequent eating between meals of typical snack foods (highly refined, rich in sugar and salt) can impair nutritional status and contribute to common health problems such as dental decay and
obesity.” found at imccmed.com/download/PWP%20Concise+%20Group%20Report.pdf, page 6

Anyone who is concerned with good helth would tell you to avoid eating between meals.
being called a fool by a chucklehead really doesnt bother me…smooches…
I never called you a fool and Jesus said that someone who does is in danger of hellfire.

u must consider yourself an expert, u always mention mine…when did mad magazine become a scholerly journal…talking about my spelling is STILL a ruse…u said that i had been lied to in your first or second post to me…take the time to look…denying that your intent was malevolent does not make it less so…of course thats why u said it…its important for u to try and trash my integrity…thats also why u keep trying to say im not ex-sda…if u REALLY have been sda for 45 years and have never heard e.g. white used as a companion piece then u are either deaf or lying.
…u still havent said whether u went to sda school or not…why so reticent.?..lol…btw…thanx for the records heads-up…now i dont have to go to jefferson barracks for a copy of my sr22…also…i dont have a “master”…i have a creator…u can go to hell for lying, too…god wont care about semantics when it comes to “fool-calling”…if the medium is truly the message(which it isnt)then what about the disciples?..just how educated was a hebrew fisherman in biblical times?..fd

take the time to look.
Take time to find and post it.
denying that your intent was malevolent does not make it less so.
The only one who can determine motive is God himself.
its important for u to try and trash my integrity.
I have never said anything about your integrity–I don’t know you well enough to do that.
thats also why u keep trying to say im not ex-sda.

Wasn’t relevant. Never has been.
i dont have a “master”…i have a creator.
Christ is to be your Lord and your God. Try doing a word study on “master” in the NT: Matt. 8:19; 9:11; 10:24-5; 12:38; 17:24; 19:16; 22:16; 24, 36; 23:8, 10; 26:18, 25, 49; Mark 4:38, 5:35, 9:5, 17, 38; 10:17, 20, 35; 11:21; 12:14, 19, 32; 13:1, 35; 14:14, 45; Luke 3:12; 5:5; 6:40; 7:40; 8:24, 45, 49; 9:33, 38, 49; 10:25; 11:45; 12:13; 13:25; 14:21; 17:13; 18:18; 19:39; 20:21, 28, 39; John 1:38; 4:31; 8:4; 9:2; 11:8, 28, 13:13-4; 20:16; Eph. 6:9

“And ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.”

and Col. 4:1
u can go to hell for lying, too.
See the Bible verse Paul wrote–note the bolded words.
god wont care about semantics when it comes to “fool-calling”.
Correct, you are not supposed to do it period.
if the medium is truly the message(which it isnt)
See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_medium_is_the_message
when what about the disciples?..just how educated was a hebrew fisherman in biblical times?
Not relevant. You touted your education, but betray a lack of even the basics. Note that Paul was the apostle chosen to go to the Gentiles. Not Peter or Thomas; not even Matthew or Luke who were educated men.

I didn’t name the journal. BTW, it’s a “scholarly” journal.
Hi dj,

Now this is where things get a little confusing. You’ve brought this article of yours up in other threads, as well as that it will be published in a scholarly journal.

When I asked you in another thread what the journal was, you replied that you would let me know when your article was published.

From what you are saying in these posts, it seems that your article has been published in that scholarly journal with glowing reviews from academia.

Questions:
  1. Is your article published at this time or will it be published in the future?
  2. What is the name of this scholarly journal?
And please be forthright in answering these questions, because I would be more than happy to go back and provide links to your quotes regarding this article and this scholarly journal that you keep proclaiming…as yet, without any evidence or “proof”, with which you seem to be so concerned about in other’s claims.

You wouldn’t be trying to put the “shuck” on us all…would you?🤷

Thanks in advance!

God bless all!!!

Hmm, “glowing reviews”? A typical journal article is only reviewed to determine if it is fit for publication by 2-3 reviewers.
Questions:
  1. Is your article published at this time or will it be published in the future?
Don’t know yet. As I said before, I’ll let you know when it comes out.

The diff being that other are making claims ab’t the past that they cannot and will not support (probably because they never happened in the 1st place, but who know for sure?), whereas mine is a present/future event. I assume that it hasn’t come out yet because I haven’t even seen the proof copy that is supposed to be sent before publication. And yet articles for 2010 are already up.
You wouldn’t be trying to put the “shuck” on us all…would you
I don’t think like that so I wouldn’t even know what that would mean.

If you are interested you can read scholarly books on the subject:

Macfarlane, Robert Original Copy: Plagiarism and Originality in Nineteenth-Century Literature. (OUP, 2007).

[A must read book by anyone interested in the plagiarism question. He shows how various authors during the period 1859-1900 wrestled with what it meant to be an original author, the questions of originality and plagiarism were examined. The extreme views of originality were rejected, as were the plagiarism hunters who didn’t understand that some borrowing was always necessary for communication. The number of weekly publications rose from 300 in 1800 to 6,000 in 1900.]

Mazzeo, Tilar J. Plagiarism and Literary Property in the Romantic Period. (Univ. of Pennsylvania Press, 2007).

THIS IS A MUST READ BOOK! The book “historicizes the discussion of late eighteenth- and early nineteenth-century plagiarism and demonstrates that it had little in common with our current understanding of the term” (jacket cover). The books seeks to “answer what turns out to be a deceptively simple question: What constituted plagiarism in Britain during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries?” (page ix). [The typical critic assumes that they meant the same thing as we mean today. See St. Onge’s 2002 and web article.] Mazzeo writes of the early nineteenth century: “. . . writers who did not acknowledge their borrowings, even implicitly . . . were not considered plagiarists, no matter how extensive the correspondences, if they had improved upon their borrowed material” (page 2).

so the only thing i can do is assume that u didnt go to an sda school…since u are attempting to comment on what i was taught there, u have nothing to back up your assertians…well…nothing except arrogance…i will be happy to continue this debate when u cease lying and making excuses for your lack of info on what u are attempting to talk about…fd
