Saturday is the Sabbath,
Sunday is the Day of the Lord
(Sabato and Domenica in Italian).

If day 4 isnt clear enough that it is midweek, then I can’t make you accept it. Even the Church Gospels Say " two angels spoke to mary exclaiming on the early dawn first day of the week that Jesus is already risen. dawn is not sunrise as the church says Jesus rose. Their are other proofs in the gospels if you read them clearly, But I leave that up to you.
I only stated that I attend saturday mass, because keeping holy the fourth commandment and at least attending mass on the sabbath is important for me. It aso lets me know that my own church (Roman Catholic) recognizes the sabbath day.🙂
Please note that any clarity that I have gleaned from Sacred Scripture comes from the teaching authority of the Church, the Magesterium, after years of study, not something from my own private interpretation, which would be dangerous to my soul.

I did however ask for references for your above statements, can you provide them?

The four Gospels.

The four Gospels.
This is not a response that a charitable Christian let alone Catholic would make to an honest request as it is intellectually dishonest. If you do not have any resources, just state that simply and move on. I was simply looking for the reasons for your belief, it is ok if you have nothing concrete to offer, thanks anyways.

Matthew 12:38 and 39 An evil and adulterous generation demands a sign, and no sign shall be given it but the sign of jonas the prophet. For even as jonas was in the belly of the fish THREE DAYS and THREE NIGHTS, so will the Son of Man be THREE DAYS and THREE NIGHTS in the heart of the earth.

And this refers to a Saturday Resurrection, where?

I have already answered earlier on this subect. Look to the book of Daniel
Mark 9 verse 1 - 10 The transfiguration of Jesus Christ.
Now AFTER SIX DAYS Meaning on the Seventh Day, Jesus was Transfigured exceedingly white as snow, as no fuller on earth can whitten.
And there came a cloud overshadowing them, and there came a voice out of the cloud, saying," This is my beloved son; hear him."
And coming down from the mountain, He cautioned them to tell no one what they had seen,EXCEPT when the Son of Man should have risen from the dead.

The six days being refered to is the time after the first prediction of Jesus’ death.
You are also mistaken about Jesus resurrection. It says that it was the first day of the week. You have been arguing that the first day is Sunday and then you want to change that to Saturday. Your statement that dawn does not mean sunrise goes against the dictionary definition. From Wesbsters
: to begin to grow light as the sun rises
The Sabbath is from Friday sunset to Saturday Sunset. The New Testament says that they gathered on Sunday to Break Bread which is a reference to the Euchrist.

Sorry, I have not changed anything. better go back and re-read. The Gospel is clear if your meant to hear and understand.
Still, hear but you do not undertand. Read Mark, yes after six day comes the seventh day, Jesus, John Mark AKA MARK and Peter are up in the mountain. Then what happens. Open your eyes and see what is said.

Have a nice day. you can email me if you want.

You are adding to the text. When you add you can see anything but the truth.
See how Luke reports the same event
Luke 9 27- 30
Truly I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God."
28
About eight days after he said this, he took Peter, John, and James and went up the mountain to pray.
29
While he was praying his face changed in appearance and his clothing became dazzling white.
30
And behold, two men were conversing with him, Moses and Elijah,
Here he says about eight days. He explains what eight days it was how long after He said that there are some standing here who will not taste death.
After the sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning, 2 Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.
This is Sunday morning. All four Gospels state that it was early Sunday morning. Nowhere is there any meniton of seeing Jesus before Sunday.

Jesus came to fulfill the Old law. We are no longer under the old law. The Ten Commandments are natural law and as such are still to be observed. We should give worship to God is part of the natural law. But to give worship on a particular day does not belong to the natural law but a ceremonial law as you cannot ascertain a particular day to worship through natural means. Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath. He gave the Keys to heaven ’and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
The rest is in Jesus who rose on Sunday thereby sanctifying that day. The rest we look forward to is heaven. The early Christians kept Sunday as the Lord’s day. A term never used for the Sabbath. To “break Bread” is mentioned three times in the New Testament. The terminology does not appear in the old. 1 Corinthians 10:16 “Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ?” shows what breaking bread meant.

If the breaking of the bread ( which in the old testament is known as the passover and at present is known as the passover which we Catholics celebrate every Mass Monday to Sunday and is one of seven other sabbath days that are not the regular sabbath days on saturday as the jewish back then and jewish today practice even we catholics and christians of today which is the four commandment) was on Thursday or to be correct the passover would be kept from wednesday sunset to thursday sunset, then thursday sunset on to friday before sunset tried and crucified and buried before friday sunset for the next sabbath day which is a regular sabbath day ( saturday) then rose on sunday morning.
Did I miss anything?

So, Jesus stated the he would rise from the dead in three days. Jesus stated in John 11 verse 9 Are there not 12 hours in a day? Also, Jesus stated that the only sign this generation would have is the sign of jonas, three days and three nights jonas was in the belly of the fish, so will the son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Friday from 3PM to Sunday Morning is not Three days, 12 hours each day and three nights,12 hours each night. equaling 72 hours.

Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath because he is the Sabbath. He made that very clear when he said to the priests and pharasis that He is Lord even of the Sabbath and His father Works on this day and that the sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath therefore the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath. .

The people of Jesus whom were Jewish and followed the fourth commandment of God which is to kept Holy the Sabbath Day, that is from friday sunset to saturday sunset, Kept it. they did nothing and would not have gone out to the tomb until Sunday Morning after the Sabbath as the Bible states.
So with all this said and I make my point to you is that Wednesday before sunset Jesus was crucified and Buried. Wednesday sunset to Saturday sunset. Third day.

Again, the women did not see Jesus until early sunday, Why? because it was now a regular sabbath day.

John 19 Verse 14 and 15 and on states that one day before passover which is called preperation day for the passover at sixth hour or about 12 noon. Pilate spoke to Jesus after the scourging and crowning and from then on he was crucufied. So according to John 19 verse 14 Jesus could not have been crucified on friday, but rather on Wednesday before sunset before the passover wednesday sunset to thursday sunset. Its better if you read the whole chapter 19 of John. This chapter is read out loud by the priest and the audiance in mass every friday that the church says Jesus was crucufied.
After you read it ask you self.
Seriously, was it Friday or was it Wednesday.
Jesus celebrated the passover early because he knew his destiny as stated in luke.

I like this, this is good. but we cant continue to play. its getting us no where. You have your truth and I have mine. But as Jesus said. Love one another as I have loved you,I love you in Jesus Christ and Christ Jesus.

That would depend on what your point is suppose to be.
So, Jesus stated the he would rise from the dead in three days. Jesus stated in John 11 verse 9 Are there not 12 hours in a day? Eastern usage of this term differs from our western usage. Any part of a day is counted as a whole day, hence the expression “three days and three nights” does not mean literally three whole days, but at least one whole day plus part of two other days.
Friday He was laid into the tomb counted as one day. All day Saturday counted as day two. Saturday night would be three. He rose the morning of Sunday.
Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath because he is the Sabbath. .
I agree with most of what you wrote. It is why the day we worship is on Sunday. However, God the Father rested on the Sabbath.

Where do you get the numbering it is not in the Bible. The Bible does not number the Commandments. The only time we have a number is when Jesus tells us the two great Commandments. . This is how the Jews would reckon the days. Wed would be one day. Wed evening to Thursday evening day two. Thursday evening to Friday evening day three. Friday evening to Saturday evening day four. Saturday evening was day five. Remember any part of a day was counted as a full day.
Again, the women did not see Jesus until early sunday, Why? because it was now a regular sabbath day.
The Sabbath was over that is why they went to the tomb.
John 19 Verse 14 and 15 and on states that one day before passover which is called preperation day for the passover at sixth hour or about 12 noon. Now it was the Preparation of the passover: it was about the sixth hour. And he saith unto the Jews, Behold, your King!
15 They therefore cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him! Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.
This does not prove it was Wednesday. I don’t see a mention of a day of the week here.
As for the controversy that you have pointed out How Do We Explain the Passover “Discrepancy”? answers your points.
After you read it ask you self.

It was Friday. Truth is truth there is no your truth or my truth there is only the truth. I don’t know what you mean by play but I am not.

the bible states that the sabbath was the next day, the day after Jesus was crucified. I don’t think you understand how the days are distinguished. Sunset is the start of the Jewish Sabbath…that’s why they needed to take the bodies off the Crosses. That’s why Joseph and Nicodemus, two of Jesus’ disciples, needed to prepare the body and bury it as soon as possible. The Jewish Sabbath is Saturday. As both adrift and I have pointed out, he did not rise on Saturday morning. The first “Day” would have been the few hours in the tomb from around 3 PM to Sunset on FRIDAY. Then Sunset Friday to Sunset Saturday would be Day TWO. He rose probably just after midnight on Sunday morning (Day THREE). He was not killed on a Wednesday. When did he eat the Passover supper? Tuesday? Monday? Why would it say it was a Solemn Sabbath because of the passover, if he died Wednesday? That would not make any sense.

The women brought the spices for anointing the body on the first day of the week because they could not buy them the day before due to the SABBATH.

As Apostle Peter warned us there are false prophets among the people, just as there are false teachers among people. The church that does not keep the Sabbath is not in the truth. The Bible commands us to keep the Sabbath. Keeping the Sabbath (7th day) holy is the fourth commandment of God (see Exodus 20:8-11). The Biblical Sabbath is Saturday, not Sunday. Many churches worship on Sunday, mistakenly referring to it as the Sabbath. Sabbath is not Sunday because Jesus Christ resurrected on the first day of the week (Sunday) (see Mark 16:9, Luke 24:1). Also, the dictionary states that Sunday is the first day of the week, and Sabbath is Saturday. Also, if you look in the calendar you will see that the first day of the week starts from Sunday and the last day (the seventh day) falls into Saturday. Jesus Christ kept the Sabbath day holy as His custom (see Luke 4:16). Apostle Paul also kept the Sabbath day holy as his custom (see Acts 17:2). Sabbath is a sign between God and His people (see Exodus 31:13-15, Ezekiel 20:12). Sabbath day should be dedicated to God and must be kept holy (see Exodus 31:15)God has promised to bring all who hold fast to the covenant of the Sabbath and keep it to His house of prayer (see Isaiah 56:6-7). God has said that blessed is the man who holds fast to the covenant of the Sabbath and keeps it (see Isaiah 56:2). God has promised to give joy to those who keep the Sabbath (see Isaiah 56:7). God testified that whoever despises and violated the law of the Sabbath is wicked (see Ezekiel 22:26). God compares religious leaders who violate the Sabbath to roaring lions devouring people’s souls (see Ezekiel 22:25). God has said that He will consume those who violate the Sabbath with His fiery anger (see Ezekiel 22:25-31). God has said that He will give those who desecrate the Sabbath over to the statues that are not good and laws that cannot live by (see Ezekiel 20:24-26). Judging from all these verses above from Bible, any church that does not keep the Sabbath day holy is not in the truth. Jesus Christ said that on the last day many will call out His name to be saved but He will tell them get away all you who break God’s laws. One of the God’s laws is to keep the Sabbath day holy. Many Christians do not keep the Sabbath day holy and according to the Bible they will not be saved for breaking God’s laws. Any church that caries a cross is not in the truth. CROSS IS AN IDOL. Veneration of the cross is idolatry. Nowadays, many christian churches use the cross as a symbol for Christ. However, the cross had been utilized as a symbol of paganism long before Christ’s crucifixion. The Bible never tells us to boast of the cross itself on which Christ was crucified but give thanks to the Christ who was sacrificed on the cross, shedding His precious blood for our sins, and to receive the grace God gives freely. The cross itself does not have the power to save. No matter on what instrument Jesus was sacrificed, it is only His blood that has power to atone for our sins. The cross itself is not important, it is only through the precious blood of Jesus Christ that we can receive the forgiveness of our sins (Ephesians 1:7). Please be very careful when choosing a church to worship God. The churches that don’t keep God’s commands are not worshiping God, instead they unknowingly worship the evil one. Revelation 22:18-19 says the whoever adds or removes any of the words from Bible will be punished by God. Those who attend Sunday worship services are adding to the Bible because no line in the Bible says the worship day is Sunday (the only Sunday Bible mentions is the day of Jesus Christ’ resurrection). From the Genesis to Revelation you WILL NOT find a single line testifying that the worship day is Sunday. Therefore, according to Bible those who attend Sunday sermons/services/worshiping ceremony are adding to the words written in the Bible. And those not keeping the Sabbath day holy are removing words from the Bible. According to Bible Sabbath (7th day) is the day to keep holy. Jesus Christ set us an example by keeping the Sabbath day holy as His custom. As Christ’s true followers we must do exactly as Jesus Christ did or else we will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Those who decide to come to the true church that keeps all God’s commends can leave their email address in their comments and I will contact them right away. God bless!

Christians moved to worshipping the Lord on Sunday because it is the first day of creation, and now the day of the Resurrection…the Lord draws all mankind up to Himself.

Christians focus on the living Lord, not revolve their Christianity around a certain day of the week.

True religion didn’t suddenly appear with American ministers 1800 years later.

The cross is NOT an idol, it reminds us (at least Catholics who have a full Crucifix) that Salvation IS NOT FREE. It reminds us we are still sinners. It shows us the price that Jesus paid for our sins!

And Jesus rose on SUNDAY, so it makes sense that 99.9% of Christians worship on a Sunday.

My understanding is that the word “sabbath” refers to rest. It is derived from Hebrew as to mean “to cease” and is used to denote one should rest. When you sabbath, you are in the act of resting. It has nothing to do whether it’s Saturday, Sunday or any particular day of the week in terms of what it is. Under Mosaic law, it was set to occur on Saturday, the last day of the week. As Catholics, we are required to keep Sunday as a day of rest and observance.

As an aside, the ISO sets the first day of the week as Monday and the last day as Sunday in a seven day week.
