My opinion is that spies are not sinning by having premarital or extramarital sex as part of their patriotic work. A husband or wife does not have absolute ownership over the other’s body; the body belongs first to God and so can in accordance with God’s will be used for patriotic duties. It’s the same as when a man is drafted in a war. Ordinarily, the man has a duty to be with his wife and share that common life. But when drafted, the man is not sinning by leaving that common life even for years apart.

I also think spies can lie. Lying is about betraying just as adultery is about betraying. When no betrayal occurs, there is no sin. If a spy lies to an enemy, that enemy isn’t being betrayed since it was never the spy’s friend in the first place.

The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. [1 Corinthians 7:4]

What does the spouse who is being cheated on have to say about any of this???
Premarital and extramarital sex is ALWAYS wrong.

When a couple marries, the flesh becomes one.
 
Forgive me if I’m jumping to conclusions, but… I smell a troll.

I think this comparison is a real stretch. Being in the service of one’s country does not give one license to sin, or behave dishonorably.
