Someone said that sex out of marriage, glorified in films and TV, such as that sex scene in The Terminator, was OK. I say it ain’t!! In fact or fiction, sex out of wedlock, even just to make an infant, just to save the future, is a BONA FIDE sin!! Stories that do just that must be boycotted and banned STAT!!

Sex out of marriage is always a sin. Our society since the early 1960s has become more and more acceptable of this. As long as the general public watches these shows, movies and listens to the music that glorifies sex, sex will be cheapened.

Sex in marriage is a wonderful thing. This is what we should teach.

Yes. Sex is one of the most wonderful gifts that God has given us. The pleasure it gives between partners is one of the most beautiful sensations that can be achieved in this world. Making use of it improperly(outside marriage), despite having only one partner, would be such a desecration of that gift since the only way to legitimize a partnership in the eyes of God is through marriage. Right?

Well, we used to have novels like Hawthornes, The Scarlet Letter which presented sex outside of marriage without all the slippery heart pounding details. I believe there are stories and films where sex outside of marriage truly speaks of the human condition. Our problem today is that it is over used, over emphasized and often tossed in gratuitisly(sp) where it isn’t even germane to the plot or story. When I was a kid Boston Blackie films were off limits because of violence. Seems like today nothing is off limits. People become what they see and read. It was true, has always been true, and will remain true. Fill your head with garbage intertainment and you will in some way live it out. You can boycott such things, but I doubt they will change. Boycott them for your own benifit and protection from evil influence
I had a boy at University who wanted to know why he had to read some of the classic books for class. Why not interesting stuff with action and excitement. I told him one reads literature by good writers in order to learn to write well. Anything else degrades your abilities. He was impressed and amazed that his old Da had such wisdom.

Agreed. If I was an actor that would be handed a sequence like that, I’d refuse it, tell the scriptwriters where to stick it, and walk out on them. Which is what all actors must do, or burn in hell. What harm can it do to burn stuff contrary to the gospel? At least we’d be martyrs for doing Jesus’ work. St. Paul wasn’t scared when his turn came.
The ones that make such trash, even the actors must be shunned from the chuch. They’d best repent, quit their jobs and get better jobs that the church favors, or better still, be Catholic and be priests and nuns, depending on their gender, give up EVERYTHING, even all their money, homes and possessions, or they WILL burn in hell.

We don’t know that anyone is going to hell, it is not exactly christian to judge their soul.

There is a difference between holding up our beliefs and actively attacking anothers.

That difference is what makes Islam, Islam.

And the Catholic faith, Catholic.

Peace and God Bless.

Of course. The whole of Islam, as we all know, actively seeks to attack others. Obviously.

And that statement wasn’t an attack. Sure wasn’t.

All the same, Hollywood should be avoided like the plague, and until all celebs, porn stars and politicians see the light and quit their jobs and stop doing what they’re doing, and get cleaner jobs and renounce EVERYTHING, they got no place in the church. They COULD quit their jobs and get decent church favaorble jobs.
